Glue players are an essential part of the game of basketball - as they have the ability to change the game at many levels. The ability to be a two way player who can change the pace of a game with a single play or can provide consistency to a group of individuals is invaluable. [player_tooltip player_id="211126" first="Morgan" last="Miller"] has shown her ability to be a consistent cog for NW Stars this summer with her ability to hold her own alongside the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id="158556" first="Rose" last="Koehler"] and Olive Nye are two steadfast guards who affect the game in a multitude of ways from the Bend area. [player_tooltip player_id="158547" first="Madison" last="Naro"] is a traditional point guard with a high IQ and the ability to run a team with her team oriented tendencies. [player_tooltip player_id="158552" first="Hailey" last="Shimojima"] is a point guard who knows how to pick up the pace at the drop of a pen. [player_tooltip player_id="211126" first="Morgan" last="Miller"] 2023 5’5" PG NW Stars/Lincoln HS - Morgan is a serviceable guard who is incredibly persistent in her ability to help fill the seams and gaps alongside the perimeter for her team. She has a knack for swinging the ball alongside the arc, as she is a great facilitator in that regard. Defends well within the team defensive scheme and is an above average rebounder. Can score when her name is called, great overall team player. [player_tooltip player_id="158556" first="Rose" last="Koehler"] 2023 5’6" PG Summit HS - Rose is an aggressive guard whose abilities on this end up in extra possessions and points for her team as she is proactive as an on-ball defender. Offensively she is a sparkplug who can score in bunches while she is on the floor particularly as a spirited slasher to the basket. She is a team-first oriented player who helps her team immensely on both ends of the floor. Olive Nye 2023 5’7" PG Bend HS - Olive’s ability to impact the game can be seen in the stat sheet where she can contribute across the board. She is a vital defender who can protect the rim with good timing as far as swiping at the ball and rebounds well for her position. Defensively, she is fully engaged as she is amongst her team’s best defenders. She is also a great scorer in transition but can also get loose in the half-court setting. [player_tooltip player_id="158547" first="Madison" last="Naro"] 2023 5’8" PG Clutch Players/Beaverton HS (Pictured) - Naro comes from a heavy basketball pedigree, as her mother is her coach at Beaverton HS and her older sister Mary Kay is now playing at Boise State. Madison is a floor general who plays at a nice, solid pace - as she is very attentive on her merits as a point guard who serves the entire team. She makes unselfish plays the entire time she is on the floor, setting up her teammates for success. [player_tooltip player_id="158552" first="Hailey" last="Shimojima"] 2023 5’5" PG Tigard HS - Hailey’s primary role with Tigard is her ability as a steadfast guard who has a knack for finding her teammates in stride and scoring position. She is also a solid defender who has good lateral speed and is witty on her merits as a defender. Can hit the open perimeter shot and flourishes in the transition setting as a scorer and passer.
