Top 2021 Uncommitted Prospects: Part 1 By Michael Wholey 10/5/20 9:00 AM EST COVID has made this years recruiting cycle very unique both for prospects and colleges. With so much uncertainty who knows what will happen with recruiting going forward but these are some of the states top 2021 prospects that have yet to make a decision. [player_tooltip player_id="91508" first="Emani" last="Burks"] (Palm Bay Magnet / East Coast United Murray 2021) 6’2 inside/out post who plays high low game well. She does good job of balancing going to block and posting up or flashing to mid post and top of keep when matchups dictate. Great post option for colleges as she heads into fall of her Senior year uncommitted. [player_tooltip player_id="91539" first="Kayla" last="Clark"] (Miami Central / FGB CW) One of the must under rated players in the state of Florida. Kayla is legit 6’2 and can play back to basket and face up. One of the few 6’0+ players that I have seen that can score on the block with her back to the basket with multiple moves. Has not had a ton of exposure or been seen by a ton of college coaches but worth checking out and is a legit D1 mid major and higher option. Led Miami Central last year in points (14.2 PPG) and rebounds (9.8 RPG) according to MaxPreps. [player_tooltip player_id="91494" first="Andrea" last="Daley"] (Miami Country Day / Miami Suns Team Fowles 17U) Daley is a slender, live, bouncy forward who is constantly around the ball. She does a great job on the offensive glass either getting the rebound or keeping the ball alive. Would like to see her sprint the floor more in transition and outrun the defense for layups as she is typically more athletic and faster then everyone on the court. Her 15 foot range and ability to put the ball the floor have drastically improved and have really opened up her game. [player_tooltip player_id="219957" first="Taylor" last="Gardner"] (DME Academy / East Coast United North Florida 2021 Clarke) Gardner is a skilled, unselfish point guard who is the leader of her team every game. She has good handle, does excellent job running her teams offense and creating ball and player movement, she is an unselfish distributor with good court vision, selectively knocks down the open shot and finishes well at the rim. [player_tooltip player_id="91498" first="Zaida" last="Gonzalez"] (Palm Beach Lakes / FGB CW) Big fan of Zaida’s game and surprised she is still available this late in the game. She is a big, strong 5’8 scoring guard that can play multiple positions. She has three point range, decent handle and can score at the rim vs contact. Has consistently been one of Palm Beach County’s top players and would be a great get for a college this late in the game! [player_tooltip player_id="91505" first="Isys" last="Grady"] (Mainland HS / DME 2021 Gold) Grady is a long, big frame, smooth wing / forward. She is extremely versatile and has ability to play inside and out. She uses her length extremely well by attacking the hoop and finishing above the rim over defenders and getting in passing lanes for deflections, tips and steals. [player_tooltip player_id="91537" first="Trinity" last="Hardy"] – Essence Platinum 17U First weekend watching Hardy extensively and left impressed with her game. She is a tough, gritty, competitive guard who competes on both ends of the floor. As competition increased throughout the weekend, so did the physical play. Hardy strength and build allowed her to go head to head with some of top guards in the state and impose her will. She is good off the dribble one on one vs her opponent and finishes well at the rim vs contact. [player_tooltip player_id="91509" first="Jaiyah" last="Harris-Smith"] (Miami Norland / Essence TipHayes Purple) Harris consistently plays hard, never gets too high or low emotionally, very few turnovers and mistakes. She is a great floor general and an extension of the coach on the floor. She has ability to score but often chooses to be a distributor and get her teammates involved first. She has a very high ceiling! [player_tooltip player_id="91523" first="Sarei" last="McGill"] (Nova High School / Miami Suns Gold 17U) McGill is one of the most improved players we have seen this spring/summer. She is a strong, tough, competitive guard who plays hard on both ends of the floor. She consistently matches up against the opposing teams best guard and locks them up! Her consistent energy and body language really stand out as she never gets too high or too low and brings it game in and game out from jump ball to final buzzer. [player_tooltip player_id="91510" first="Lindsey" last="Weingard"] (Dr Michael Krop / Miami Suns Gold 17U) Weingard plays with extreme confidence and conviction on the offensive end that she believes she going to drop 30 every time she laces them up. She is deadly from 3 point range but can also put it the floor and attack the rim. She loves to be in transition throwing lead passes for layups to her teammate or taking it the basket if the situation dictates it.
