Last Sunday, October 11th, was Indiana’s second annual Top-250 Expo, showcasing many of the state’s top ballplayers, along with a handful of young ladies from Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. The event took place in Fort Wayne at the Plassman Athletic Center at Turnstone, and there were 158 registrants, 30+ more than a year ago. With 16 teams at the event, nearly ten kids on every roster, and each team only playing three games apiece, it was difficult to cover everyone at length (I apologize if I miss anyone). At the same time, I wanted to circle back and touch on a few prospects from each team who I haven’t mentioned in a previous article already. We try to spread out our coverage of big events like these, and as I’ve stated all week so far, there were many more girls who did play well than just those mentioned in the first few articles.
TEAM #9
Kenndall Bethel Kenndall Bethel 5'3" | PG Mishawaka Marian | 2022 State IN , 2022, 5-3 PG, Mishawaka Marian H.S. – Kendall is a strong-for-her-size, quick/fast, and athletic water-bug type of playmaker. She is constantly putting pressure on opposing defenses, plus she herself can defend.
Braxtyn Dunham, 2024, 5-3 CG, North Vermillion H.S. – The Falcons were a 20-7 Regional team last year, yet Braxtyn could play a lot immediately. She’ll need to get stronger, but she’s a long, quick/fast, feisty, and skilled guard.
Maiya Newsom, 2023, 5-4 CG, Lebanon H.S. – Maiya is a strong, athletic perimeter player who makes a lot of plays based on her ability. She can run and jump, she plays with a motor, and she can defend the ball all over the floor.
Alexia Cole Alexia Cole 5'9" | SF Pike | 2023 State IN , 2023, 5-9 CF, Indianapolis Pike H.S. – I thought Alexia had a really nice Summer/Fall. She has broad shoulders, length, and wiry strength, she is a nice athlete, she plays hard, and she’s becoming more skilled outside.
Jessie Yelaska Jessie Yelaska 5'10" | PF John Glenn | 2022 State IN , 2022, 5-9 CF, John Glenn H.S. – Jessie is another player who had a nice grassroots season. She looks stronger, more explosive, and more versatile. She can knock down a shot outside or score/rebound inside.
Julia Economou Julia Economou 5'11" | SF Penn | 2023 State IN , 2023, 5-10 SF, Penn H.S. – Julia has a long, wiry strong, athletic frame. She has some bounce to her, plus she plays with an outstanding motor. She can play equally well around the perimeter or in the mid-post.
Brianna Hoskins, 2023, 5-10 PF, Mooresville H.S. – Brianna is a strong, physical, hard-working front-liner who likes contact. She does a really nice job rebounding the ball, and she can post on the low-block or play in the mid-post.
TEAM #10
Joirdyn Smith Joirdyn Smith 5'4" | CG Fishers | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-2 CG, Fishers H.S. – Joirdyn has some of the best ball skill of any guard in the 2024 class. She does a nice job of getting defenders off-balance and getting downhill, plus she can make jump-shots outside.
Alayna Boots Alayna Boots 5'7" | PG Prairie Heights | 2022 State IN , 2022, 5-7 PG, Prairie Heights H.S. – I’ve always liked Alayna’s upside. She is long, fluid, and somewhat smooth. She can make plays off the bounce for teammates or score it herself. She plays hard and will defend.
Abby Worley Abby Worley 5'3" | PG Mt. Vernon (Fortville) | 2021 State IN , 2021, 5-3 PG, Mt. Vernon H.S. (Fortville) – Abby had an outstanding Summer/Fall and improved her recruiting because of it. She is strong with the ball, she plays with good vision and a great motor, and she rarely errs.
Megan Kain Megan Kain 5'8" | SG Castle | 2022 State IN , 2022, 5-7 W, Castle H.S. – Megan is a versatile, hard-working, do-whatever-it-takes type of hustler. She is a really nice athlete, she plays with a great motor, and she’ll defend. She can also make shots or get to the basket.
Morgan White, 2024, 5-8 CF, New Prairie H.S. – Morgan is a strong-for-her-age, quietly tough and physical, versatile forward. She is a solid athlete in most directions, and she showed the ability to play in the mid-post and outside some.
Gracie Bobo Gracie Bobo 5'10" | SG Penn | 2022 State IN , 2022, 5-9 CG, Penn H.S. – I’ve always liked Gracie’s game, but I still struggle on what position she’ll play in college and just think “ballplayer”. She can shoot/score it just about anywhere, and she has a great motor.
Kennedy Coleman Kennedy Coleman 6'0" | SF Charlestown | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-10 SF, Charlestown H.S. – I mentioned the other day about Charlestown’s 2024 class, and Kennedy is another really nice piece to that. She is a long and athletic forward with good skill and a nice motor.
Izzy Crickmore Izzy Crickmore 5'11" | SF Center Grove | 2023 IN , 2023, 5-10 CF, Center Grove H.S. – Izzy is a wiry strong, versatile forward who played more physical this Summer/Fall. She is most comfortable in the mid-post, but she can play outside or get inside and rebound.
Kendal Bolen Kendal Bolen 6'3" | C Cathedral | 2023 IN , 2023, 6-2 C, Cathedral H.S. – Kendal is still growing, so she’s a “wait-and-see” kid because future strength should help her explosiveness over time. But she’s skilled around the basket and understands how to play.
TEAM #11
Riley Milausnic Riley Milausnic 5'7" | CG Lake Central | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-4 PG, Lake Central H.S. – I really enjoy her toughness and confidence with the ball in her hands. She does a nice job of getting defenders off-balance, she can make plays, plus she can knock down shots.
Isabella Gizzi Isabella Gizzi 5'7" | PG New Palestine | 2023 State IN , 2023, 5-6 PG, New Palestine H.S. – I absolutely love how Isabella plays. From her toughness and grit, to her skill, understanding, and ability to adjust in-game from one half to the next. She is a traditional point guard.
Abby Parsons Abby Parsons 5'8" | SF Cascade | 2023 IN , 2023, 5-8 CF, Cascade H.S. – Abby is an interesting forward because she is strong and physical, but she also has some ball skill and can knock down shots outside consistently. She plays with a nice IQ and motor.
Joh’nea Donahue Joh’nea Donahue 5'8" | SG Fort Wayne Snider | 2024 State IN , 2024, 5-8 SG, Fort Wayne Snider H.S. – Joh’nea is a wiry strong, athletic wing guard who can make plays. She can score it outside or off the bounce, plus she’s a willing passer who always finds teammates.
Allison Capouch Allison Capouch 5'11" | SF Kouts | 2023 State IN , 2023, 5-11 W, Kouts H.S. – Allison played a little stronger and more explosively than she did over the Summer/Fall. She has solid ball skill like a point forward, she can make plays for others, and she can shoot it.
TEAM #12
Laney Hawkins Laney Hawkins 5'9" | CG Charlestown | 2023 State IN , 2023, 5-7 SG, Charlestown H.S. – Laney is a long, fast, and athletic guard. She is starting to make a lot more plays off the bounce, but she has been known as a knockdown shooter. She plays hard and will defend.
Emma Spahr, 2023, 5-8 PF, Morristown H.S. – This was my first time seeing Emma, and she is a strong, physical, hard-working front-liner. She’ll get inside and rebound, but she also showed some skill in the mid-post.
London Brooks London Brooks 5'6" | SG Ben Davis | 2022 State IN , 2022, 5-6 W, Ben Davis H.S. – I have been a big fan of London’s this Summer/Fall. She is a tough kid, a nice athlete, and she’s skilled with the ball. She is a playmaker who can find teammates or score it herself.
Sydney Horton Sydney Horton 5'7" | CG Roncalli | 2023 State IN , 2023, 5-7 PG, Roncalli H.S. – Sydney has a fairly strong and athletic frame, she plays with a lot of poise/savvy, and she takes care of the ball and finds open teammates. She is also a very good perimeter shooter.
Hannah Lach Hannah Lach 5'10" | SF Carmel | 2023 State IN , 2023, 5-9 SF, Carmel H.S. – Hannah is a fairly long, wiry strong, hard-working wing. She is more of a perimeter shooter right now, but she’s starting to attack a lot more off the bounce. She also plays with a nice IQ.
Annaka Nelson Annaka Nelson 6'0" | PF Fort Wayne Concordia | 2023 State IN , 2023, 6-0 PF, Fort Wayne Concordia H.S. – Annaka is a long, wiry strong, and athletic forward. She has some bounce to her, she can also sit down and defend wings, plus she’s a nice inside-out scorer as a ‘4’.
Ra’Mya Milton Ra’Mya Milton 5'9" | PF Brownsburg | 2022 State IN , 2022, 5-8 CF, Brownsburg H.S. – Ra’Mya is a strong, fairly athletic, and versatile forward who plays with a lot of effort. She is willing to be physical inside and score/rebound, but she can also defend some guards.
MyKayla Moran MyKayla Moran 6'2" | C Hamilton Heights | 2022 State IN , 2022, 6-3 C, Hamilton Heights H.S. – I’ve really enjoyed watching MyKayla’s growth as a player over the years, and I think there’s still more to come. She works hard, runs the floor well, and her skillset has gotten much better.
