Breakdown:
[player_tooltip player_id="158514" first="Cali" last="Denson"]:
The dribbling wiz, who just recently received offers from Tulsa and Eastern Washington is quickly becoming one of the hottest commodities in Oregon and for good reason. She showed the ability to play within an offensive scheme and make the right decisions every possession as well as step up and drill it from deep. She hit four three pointers, some from more than 20 feet out and showed off her range as well as an expansive lay-up package as a guard with a lot of skill and creativity in the paint. Her 20 point, 2 rebound, 3 assist, 2 block, 1 steal effort was certainly telling of her overall ability to affect the game in a multitude of ways as she has shown that she can be the highlight of a team while playing within the structure and orchestrating within a team setting.
[player_tooltip player_id="204576" first="Mandy" last="Sisul"]
The Central Washington signee is part of a very structured and successful La Salle team and is a defensively engaged player who has the ability to contribute on the offensive end as a finisher, with aggressive tendencies on both. She showed the ability to be a main cog on both ends of the floor versus a tough NW Stars Nacy club, and finished with a respectable 6 point total.
[player_tooltip player_id="158489" first="Truitt" last="Reilly"]: Two-Way Player
[player_tooltip player_id="158489" first="Truitt" last="Reilly"] had perhaps the biggest showing out of the NW Stars, as she had a huge last possession stop versus Cal Sparks to seal their close one-point victory versus the prolific Southern California squad and this marked her second game where she was a dominant defensive presence in the paint. She makes plays on both ends regularly, as a disciplined and incredibly skilled player that plays with incredible patience. Whether it is jumping timing on block shots or showing suave footing in the paint, Reilly gets the job done. Her 9 point, 6 rebound, 3 block, 2 steal total was very representative of her game and structure.
Hageman and Shuler
[player_tooltip player_id="158517" first="Halle" last="Hageman"] and [player_tooltip player_id="158542" first="Kennedie" last="Shuler"] play incredibly similarly as two players who constantly push the tempo and try to play to their speed and wit to catch defenses off guard. Mix this in with their ability to play within the half-court setting and you have a formidable two guard mix for NW Stars Navy. Kennedie can hit from outside as well as displays the ability to squeeze past a defender on her way to the basket. Hageman is an exceptional shooter who thrives in transition as a passer and finisher. They combined for 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.
