Year in an year out the Bay State League is one of the most competitive leagues top to bottom in the state of Massachusetts. As we eagerly await the start of school ball next month, lets take a look at some of the top tier players in the Bay State Leagues senior class.
[player_tooltip player_id="183843" first="Michaela" last="O’Neil"] - 5’11’’ - Center - Newton North - MA Huskies - Returning Bay State League All Star ( 30th in MA 2021) averaged 14 point and 13 rebounds per game. A great athlete, she runs the floor and can finish in transition or in the post with back to the basket. Also a force on the boards she is a double -double machine.
[player_tooltip player_id="183883" first="Kaelagh" last="Malloy"] - 5’8’’ - Shooting Guard - Wellesley - This sharp shooting senior averaged over 11 points a game last year for the Raiders and was named a BSL all star (70th in MA 2021). She can knock down the three with deep range.
[player_tooltip player_id="183831" first="Caroline" last="Klemm"] - 6’0’’ - Small Forward - Needham -Mass Mavericks - One of the best unsigned players in the area. Returning BSL all star (19th in MA 2021) averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game last year. She can take over a game as she finishes in transition and has an unmatched motor.
Madison Shaker - 5’5’’ - Shooting Guard - Needham - Honorable mention all BSL as a junior, can spot up and stroke the three point shot. Much improved finishing at the rim and a plus on the ball defender.
[player_tooltip player_id="183845" first="Kerin" last="McCarthy"] -5’6’’ - Shooting Guard- Weymouth -MT Elite Ducks - Returning BSL all star (32nd in MA 2021) and third leading scorer in the league last year averaged 15.5 points per game. Deadly three point shooter is much improved going to the basket and creating offense for others.<img class="size-medium wp-image-223622 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/11/km13-whs-231x300.jpg" alt="" width="231" height="300" />
[player_tooltip player_id="183870" first="Hannah" last="Krier"] - 5’7’’- Shooting Guard - Framingham -Honorable mention all BSL as a junior can get to the basket and finish around the rim. Great defender in transition, pushes the basketball and finds open teammate in transition.
[player_tooltip player_id="183873" first="Aisling" last="Crowley"] -5’11’’ - Power Forward - Braintree - Honorable mention all BSL as a junior, super tough down low on the block and defends the post especially well. Strong rebounder on both ends of the floor has a nice finishing touch around the basket.
In addition to these returning all league performers, watch out for potential star in [player_tooltip player_id="183841" first="Lily" last="Adams"] of Braintree who is coming off a knee injury.
