Thirteen of the South Florida’s Top 2024 Prospects By Michael Wholey 11/28/20 9:00 AM EST Previously we took at look at ten of the State’s Top 2024 Prospects.  We take a deeper dive and here are thirteen 2024 prospects in South Florida that you should know about in addition to the previously mentioned Gianna Corbitt Gianna Corbitt 6'1" | SF Blanche Ely HS | 2024 State FL , Ka’Zahria Johnson Ka’Zahria Johnson 6'2" | C St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State FL , Sofia Mendez Sofia Mendez 5'7" | CG Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL , Janessa Kelley Janessa Kelley 5'9" | SG Blanche Ely HS | 2024 State FL , and Kayla Nelms Kayla Nelms 6'1" | PF Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL   Amanda Fogler Amanda Fogler 5'10" | SF SLAM! (Miami) | 2024 State FL (SLAM! (Miami) / Miami Suns) 5’9 Wing Good sized wing who is a sold perimeter shooter with upside. She has good length and skill for a young player.  Her motor is inconsistent and is a step slow defensively but has potential to be an impactful player this season for SLAM! (Miami). A’Zarriah Brown A’Zarriah Brown 4'11" | PG Flanagan | 2024 State FL (?/ GT Queens) 5’1 Guard Brown is a quick, athletic combo guard. She pushes ball well in transition and can get to the rack! Like her court demeanor, she plays with confidence and consistent energy level.  She is a solid, young player to keep an eye on. Laurie Severe Laurie Severe 5'9" | PF Everglades | 2024 State FL (Archbishop McCarthy / Miami Suns) 5’7 Forward Strong, undersized forward who has good size, is a good athlete and plays hard on both ends of the floor.  She finishes well at the rim and is a rim runner in transition. Her skills are raw at the point and she needs to develop her left hand but her effort and competitiveness compensate for her raw skill set. Rachael Restrepo Rachael Restrepo 5'4" | SF Immaculata-LaSalle | 2024 State FL (? / Miami Suns) 5’4 Guard Combo guard with excellent court vision for her age.  She has the potential to be a good shooter with more reps as she has food form and a solid base.  She has a high basketball IQ and is a good decision maker unless she is sped up.  She has potential when she plays with confidence. Jaden Castro Jaden Castro 5'3" | PG Our Lady of the Lakes | 2024 State FL (St. Brendan / Miami Suns) 5’3 Guard Young, hard nosed guard who loves to get in the paint and use the floater or shoot it from deep. Average athlete and a bit small but a solid overall player.  She is going to play a big role as a Freshman for St. Brendan this year. Kaliyah Morales Kaliyah Morales 5'7" | PG Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL (Miami Country Day) 5’7 Point Guard Morales is a long, lanky athlete who is an inconsistent finisher at the rim.  She will go as high or low as her motor allows her to but is extremely effective when she is playing hard and engaged in the game. Her jumper is a bit flat and needs some left from her legs but her body type and skill level makes her potential through the roof! Kamryn Corporan Kamryn Corporan 5'3" | PG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State FL (Mogsignor Pace / Miami Suns) 5’5 Point Guard Corporan is a scoring point guard who is a very good 1on1 player with the ball in her hands.  She struggles with decision making when facing pressure and is still learning how to run a team but she has a scorers mentality and wants to get to the rim.  She is was very active on both sides of the floor and is at her best in transition. Milana Vittoria Milana Vittoria 5'4" | SF Archbishop McCarthy | 2024 State FL (Archbishop McCarthy / Miami Suns) 5’6 Guard Vittoria is a big, young, skilled wing that has a strong build and excellent 3 point range.  She has great size and strength for her age and she is able to use her body and get to rim and score vs contact. Jazlyn and Jaylyn Laguna Jaylyn Laguna 5'0" | CG Everglades | 2024 State FL (Everglades HS / Hollywood Eagles) 5’1 Guards Small, flashy guards who play exceptionally well together and make a tough back court.  They are talented young guard who have solid handle and are good outside shooters.  They are expected to play pivotal role for Everglades this season during their Freshman campaign. Charisse Martin Charisse Martin 5'7" | CG Blanche Ely HS | 2024 State FL (Miami Country Day / Miami Suns) 5’7 Guard Martin is a long and lanky athletic combo guard who is a good defender and sees the floor well. She has an inconsistent jump shot inconsistent. But has high potential as she continues to develop her offensive game.  She is a young prospect that has a high ceiling and will be one to keep an eye on. Jocelyn Gagnon Jocelyn Gagnon 5'10" | SF Somerset Prep North Lauderdale | 2024 State FL (Calvary Christian Academy / GT Queens) 5’10 Wing Strong guard with solid, compact build that can knock it down from 3! Gagnon is a perimeter player who is automatic from corner 3.  She is an average athlete with good length.  She needs to get more coordinated and stronger but has excellent potential. Khadee Hession Khadee Hession 5'10" | CG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State FL (American Heritage Delray / Miami Lady Ballers) 5’9 Guard Hooper!  She is a long, athletic, versatile wing.  She is active on both ends of the floor and can drop buckets in a hurry!  She has big time potential as her handle and scoring ability continue to improve. She recently transferred from Miami Country Day to American Heritage (Delray) and is expected to play a pivotal role this season.
