Basketball is a two-way game as defense plays a significant role in the grand scheme of things. In the class of 2021 we have an eclectic bunch of individuals who stand-out on this end of the floor for their merits as a defender. [player_tooltip player_id="204575" first="Afton" last="Keeney"] is a brute force in the paint for Clutch Cardinal whereas [player_tooltip player_id="158486" first="Cami" last="Fulcher"] is an engaged and established defender for Oregon Elite Navy. [player_tooltip player_id="158487" first="Toni" last="Coleman"] uses her 100 meter speed exceptionally well for South Medford in the half-court trap. [player_tooltip player_id="158477" first="Emilia" last="Bishop"] is a refined and fundamentally sound rim protector and [player_tooltip player_id="204576" first="Mandy" last="Sisul"] is a fierce and aggressive defender who makes her mark on both ends of the floor.
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="204575" first="Afton" last="Keeney"] 2021 6’0" PF Clutch Cardinal/Westview HS</strong> - Keeney is a rough around the edges forward who is a defensive specialist in her regards as a rim protector. She has keen senses in the paint whether it be as a primary defender or on the weak-side help. Keeney collects rebounds at a good pace and she has good timing on going for blocked shots. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158486" first="Cami" last="Fulcher"] 2021 5’8" SG Oregon Elite Navy/West Linn HS</strong> - Fulcher was a work-horse for Oregon Elite Navy as a defensively ignited motor for her team, as she is a very initiating player on that end of the floor. She has great lateral speed, thanks due in part to her accolades as a soccer player. Fulcher made the all-defensive team for the 17U Platinum Division of the 28.5 League.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158487" first="Toni" last="Coleman"] 2021 5’4" PG South Medford</strong> - the recently signed Chico State player is the main cog on the defensive end for South Medford, as Coleman uses her blistering speed to use as a one-person trap. She has excellent closing speed and a quick burst speed that is hard to match. Coleman knows how to angle and corner her opposition into mistakes and knows how to capitalize into transition. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158477" first="Emilia" last="Bishop"] 2021 6’2" PF Oregon Elite Gold/Wilsonville HS</strong> - Bishop is a very polished player in all regards, as a poised defender and offensively sharp player. She is productive on the glass and defensively is activated as a rim protector. Bishop has excellent timing on blocking shots as has a keen sense in the paint. She was a part of the all-defense team for the 17U Gold Division of 28.5.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="204576" first="Mandy" last="Sisul"] 2021 5’9" SG ABA/La Salle HS</strong> - Sisul is a blue-collar player defensively who isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and get to work. She is a very particular on-ball defender who makes it her job to pester her opposition as an established defender. Sisul is a team oriented player who plays with the same regard and pace offensively as a witty passer and scorer. </span>
