<span style="font-size: 24pt; font-family: symbol;"><strong>6<sup>th</sup> Annual Palm Beach Shootout Recap </strong></span> <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;">By Michael Wholey 1/9/21 9:00 AM EST</span> <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;"><em>Rising Stars Athletics presented the Broward &amp; Dade edition of the 6<sup>th</sup> Annual Palm Beach Shootout December 28-30 at Somerset Prep Academy. The three day event featured South Plantation, Mogsignor Pace, Everglades, Dr. Krop, McArthur, Northeast, North Miami, Killian, American Heritage Delray, Benjamin School, and Nova crowning two champions.  </em></span> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;">American Heritage Delray defeated North Miami 63-39 to take home the championship in the top division.  2022 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91559" first="Jordana" last="Codio"]</strong> was named MVP finishing with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists in the championship game while teammate <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="151282" first="Alancia" last="Ramsey"]</strong> was named to the All-Tournament team finishing with 30 points and 15 rebounds. </span> <img class=" wp-image-243116 aligncenter" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/AH-Delray-Team-e1609795189978-300x195.jpg" alt="" width="452" height="294" /> <img class=" wp-image-243114 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Kamryn-e1609794993581-174x300.jpeg" alt="" width="133" height="227" /> <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;">In the Red division, Mogsignor Pace defeated Northeast 47-42.  Freshman phenom <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="221678" first="Kamryn" last="Corporan"]</strong> was impressive for Pace all weekend including a 21 point, 3 steal and 2 rebound effort vs South Plantation. </span> <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;">2023 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="219936" first="Mariah" last="McKenzie"]</strong> was solid all weekend. In the loss to North Miami she had a double-double dropping 10 points and racking in 10 rebounds while in Northeast 59-42 win vs. McArthur her stat line was even more impressive as she dropped 21 points, 7 assists, and racked in 7 rebounds. 2022 guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="219944" first="Veronica" last="Maden"]</strong> was also solid dropping 17 points in the victory while teammate 2023 <strong>Kimora Lee</strong> had 10 points and 2022 Forward <strong>Dianey Ferrier</strong> had 12 points and 7 blocks (both career highs). </span> <img class="alignnone wp-image-243118" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Mariah-e1609795364918-251x300.jpeg" alt="" width="185" height="221" />.          <img class="alignnone wp-image-243117" style="font-size: 1rem;" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Kimora-2-e1609795282163-260x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="219" />.         <img class="alignnone wp-image-243119" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Dianey-Ferrier-2-e1609795425583-242x300.jpg" alt="" width="179" height="222" /> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;">Krop defeated Nova 52-41 in the third-place game.  2021 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91510" first="Lindsey" last="Weingard"]</strong> had 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in the big win while <img class=" wp-image-243121 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Linz-227x300.jpeg" alt="" width="182" height="241" />fellow Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91521" first="Lauryn" last="Hornstein"]</strong> had 12 points and <strong>Emmy Mills</strong> chipped in 10 points to along with her 13 rebounds.  <strong>Weingard</strong> was superb all weekend averaging 21.7 points, 4 assists and 4 steals and was named to the All-Tournament Team</span> <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;"><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Sarei-crop-1332x875-1609794687.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-243112 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/Sarei-crop-1332x875-1609794687-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a></span> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;">2021 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91523" first="Sarei" last="McGill"]</strong> was named to the Rising Stars Palm Beach County Holiday Classic All-Tournament team for Nova and she averaged 19 points a game in the event and played solid defense, and set the tone for the Titans energy and hustle doing all the dirty work.  2023 5’9 guard <strong>Madisyn McLeod</strong> was solid in the game vs Krop dropping 13 points. </span> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;">North Miami’s <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="145104" first="Carla" last="Jean"]</strong> continued her scoring ways dropping 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 52-41 win over Mater Academy while fellow Senior guard <strong>Cyerah Parham</strong> had 15 points in their 59-48 win over Northeast.  5’11 Forward / Center <strong>Kouraje Johnson</strong> was solid all weekend as well averaging 8 points and 8 rebounds in the event including an 11-point effort vs Northeast. </span> <span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: symbol;">Michael Wholey is the Senior Scout of Prep Girls Hoops Florida.  You can reach him at <a href="mailto:WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com">WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com</a> or on <a href="http://www.x.com/WholeyPrepHoops">Twitter</a> and <a href="http://www.Instagram.com/WholeyPrepHoops">Instagram</a> at <a href="http://www.Twitter.com/WholeyPrepHoops">@WholeyPrepHoops</a>. </span>
