In our first release of the Class of 2024, we take a look at the top 10.
About Our Rankings
Prep Girls Hoops prospect rankings have been compiled by our staff with input from high school, club and college coaches from across the state. Players are ranked on their status as a college prospect. We aim to expand and update our prospects rankings 2-4 times per year to continue to maintain the most comprehensive, accurate prospect rankings in the country.
You can take a look at the Class of 2024 Rankings HERE
# 1 Gianna Corbitt Gianna Corbitt 6'1" | SF Blanche Ely | 2024 State FL (Miami Country Day / Team Knight)
Corbitt is the state’s # 1 ranked player in the 2024 class because she is an extremely versatile wing player that can play 2-4. She is a strong, high IQ, young, talented player who has a huge ceiling and projects to be a major BCS college prospect. As stated in the explanation of rankings, “Players are ranked on their status as a college prospect” and in my opinion Corbitt will be a big-time college player. She has missed some court time due to injury but she had an excellent 8th grade campaign getting solid minutes and being an impact player for Miami Country Day while playing a national schedule. She has since transferred to Blanche Ely and look for her to a major impact player for the Tigers once she is 100% and cleared to be back on the court.
# 2 Kayla Nelms Kayla Nelms 6'1" | PF Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL (Miami Country Day / Miami Suns)
Last season Nelms and Corbitt were teammates playing varsity as 8th graders and it was a problem when both were healthy and on the court together. Nelms has also missed some court time with injury but is back on the court and putting up numbers for Miami Country Day having multiple double doubles already in her Freshman campaign. Nelms is a skilled, young, post her has solid footwork, strong build, and 15-foot range. Her combination of skill and size at a young age, give her major upside.
# 3 Kiara Williams Kiara Williams 6'1" | PF Palm Bay Magnet | 2024 State FL (Palm Bay Magnet / East Coast United)
Similar to Corbitt and Nelms, Williams also got varsity minutes as an 8th grader for Florida Prep. Transferring over from Florida Prep to Palm Bay, Williams is the team’s 3rd leading scorer on one of the most talented rosters in the state averaging 11.9 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game. She is a strong, active, athletic, forward who is a monster on the boards and has big time hops! And while she has mainly impacted the games on the interior, she is started to develop a perimeter game where she can stretch out to the high post and even out to the 3-point line.
# 4 Janessa Kelley Janessa Kelley 5'9" | SG Blanche Ely | 2024 State FL (Blanche Ely HS / Team Knight)
Kelley is dangerous with the ball in her hands in the open court getting to the rim in transition and finding the open player. But perhaps her best skill is knocking it down from 3. Kelley enrolled at Blanche Ely giving the Tigers 2 of our top 4 2024s on the same high school roster. The 5’9 guard has made an impact early with multiple double-digit games and showcasing her deep range. She keeps fans and college coaches updated with highlights through her twitter account @Jk5golive. Check out some of her recent highlights from the Jr Orange Bowl Classic against Norland and Miami Christian.
# 5 Jamesha Card Jamesha Card 5'10" | PF South Broward | 2024 State FL (South Broward / Hollywood Eagles)
I don’t do player comparisons very often but it is hard for me to watch Jamesha Card Jamesha Card 5'10" | PF South Broward | 2024 State FL and not see former Florida State player Shakayla Thomas. Shakayla arguably will go down as one of the top players in FSU history finishing with 1,971 career points for the Seminoles and went on to be drafted 23rd in the 2018 WNBA draft. While I am not ready to anoint Card straight the ACC and WNBA, there games have a lot of similar attributes. Card is a versatile player that I am not sure what position you label here. She has a strong, mature body and plays bigger than her height. She plays hard and is a monster on the boards. Her strength and body allow her to take contact and finish at the rim vs bigger and stronger opponents. Her upside will be dictated by how her perimeter skills improve over the next 3 years and her shooting ability but her heart and energy make her an impact player on any team!
# 6 Ka’Zahria Johnson Ka’Zahria Johnson 6'2" | C St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State FL – (Miami Norland / Miami Suns Red)
Johnson is the class of 2024s top big that I have seen. She is 6’2 long, athletic, and mobile. Like most young post players her ranking is based on potential not necessarily production as is still growing into her body. But her presence on the court immediately impacts that game with her shot blocking and ability to control the boards. Just seven games into the high school season, Johnson has already had two double digit scoring performances (10 points and 16 points) and three double digit rebounding performances (12 rebounds, 12 rebounds, 16 rebounds). Look for Johnson to continue to make strides in her production as she puts it all together and will be a major impact player and a potential BCS college player.
# 7 Lexi Blue Lexi Blue 6'1" | SF Lake Highland Prep | 2024 State FL (Lake Highland Prep / FGB)
Walk in the gym and Blue’s length, wingspan, and height immediately stand out during warmups. Her physical attributes are very similar to the bodies you see on the court in the ACC, SEC, and other major conferences. I saw Blue play this past week for # 1 ranked Lake Highland Prep vs Montverde Academy in a game where there was likely 8+ college players on the court at the same time. Blue started for LHP and served as a role player for an extremely talented team. She is an active wing player, who plays hard. Her length and wingspan make her an excellent defender that can cover guards, wings, and forwards. Offensively she has a decent perimeter shot and the ability to put the ball to the floor. Similar to Johnson, her potential outweighs her production at this point but look for her to make dramatic strides as she continues to get stronger, fill into her body, and her offensive game becomes more polished.
# 8 Leah Bullard Leah Bullard 6'1" | PF Dr Phillips | 2024 State FL (Carrollwood Day / Hoop Dreams 2022)
The 6’1 wing is one of four players in our top 8 that got varsity experience as an 8th grader. Barnes game and build is similar to Blue as she is an extremely talented, versatile player that will be great in a position less system. Her upside is endless and was fun to watch with Hoop Dreams this travel season. Her length and athleticism give her major upside. It will be interesting to watch as she grows into her body and her skill catches up with her length and athleticism.
# 9 Beckham Hockley Beckham Hockley 5'7" | PG Sickles | 2024 State FL (Clearwater HS / FGB)
Hockley had a breakout spring/summer season with Tampa Thunder and is continuing that pace with Clearwater HS. She is a young, talented, scoring, combo guard who can knock it down from 3, has a solid mid-range game, and can put it to the floor and get to the rim. She plays with a ton of confidence and goes hard every possession. Combine those attributes with a big-time work ethic, and she has major upside. Hockley came storming onto the exposure scene this past spring and it is obvious that she is hungry and a gym rat. She will be interesting to follow and to see what she adds to her game over the next three years during her high school career. In my opinion, Hockley is an impact mid major college player in the right system at a conference like the Atlantic-10, American Athletic Conference (AAC), Big East, Colonial, Missouri Valley, or Conference USA (C-USA).
# 10 Jada Eads Jada Eads 5'6" | PG Lake Highland Prep | 2024 State FL (Wekiva HS / Central Florida Elite)
Don’t let Jada Eads Jada Eads 5'6" | PG Lake Highland Prep | 2024 State FL small stature fool you, she is a bucket getter! The slender build point guard has impressive handle, shifty 1on1 moves, excellent ability to change speeds and stop and go, and deadly 3-point range. She has made her presence known on the high school hoop scene putting up impressive numbers early on the 2020-21 High Schools season for Wekiva. Eads has been on the exposure scene since 6th grade and has been documenting her journey through a YouTube page with her brother. Check it out HERE

This is the first release of the class of 2024. We have taken a look at players performance and potential with both their High School and Travel teams. The class of 2024 has been a challenge to get in depth evaluations due to the COVID-19 pandemic limiting opportunities to see these players play. With that being said, this is our initial release that we will update 3 more times in 2021 (April 1, June 1, and August 30). If there is a player that not included in the rankings, please email us at WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com and include Name, Height, Position, HS, Travel team, any stats available and any video available. Our goal is to cover the entire state, but we have been limited in our travel and evaluation opportunities.
