They have both instant impact players, guys that will develop into stars over the long term, and a combination of both of these. Let’s take a look at, and get familiar with, a few of the freshman in Michigan this season.
Emma Bruwer (2024, PG, Lowell)
Bruwer will be a name you hear from often over the next 4 years. The Lowell guard has all the makings of a talented and efficient point guard. She’s a hustle player that provides energy on the defensive end of the floor. Bruwer is a very efficient perimeter passer and likes to initiate the offense in that way.
Indya Davis (2024, SG, West Bloomfield)
Davis is an instant impact type of player. Not to mention that fact that her game has a huge upside. She can handle the rock and pass like a point guard, but has a natural scoring feel in the mold of a high octane 2 guard. She can really attack the defense and break them down for shot opportunities from mid range.
Hailey Freshcorn (2024, G, Onsted)
Freshcorn has a bright future ahead of her in the game of basketball. She’s an experienced freshman that has seen high quality competition by playing for the Michigan Mystics during grassroots season. Freshcorn will have a chance to earn some varsity minutes in her first high school season.
Kate Stemmer (2024, G, Saline)
Stemmer is the younger sister of Saline senior star Ella Stemmer Ella Stemmer 5'10" | SG Saline | 2021 State MI . Like her sister, she has bona fide star talent. She’s super fast and quick, and will enter high school as a lockdown defender. Stemmer has efficient 3 point range on her jumper. She could also be a very valuable secondary ball handler. Stemmer will be a must see freshman that should have an immediate impact.
