Monday started another exciting week of play that will feature some great matchups all the way to the weekend. Let’s take a look at some of the winners from games on Feb. 8.
<strong>Ry’Nayjah Sydnor, Bridgeton: </strong>Sydnor put in 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to go with four blocks in Bridgeton’s 47-35 victory over St. Joseph (Hamm.), giving Bridgeton its first win of the season.
<strong>Chloe Kreusser, Westfield: </strong>Kreusser had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds in Westfield’s 57-33 win over Roselle Catholic. Annie Ryan and Sutton Factor also scored in double figures for Westfield. Amaris Jenkins hit four 3-pointers to lead Roselle Catholic with 16 points.
<strong>Uloma Nwaka, Rahway: </strong>Nwaka netted 22 points and made three steals in Rahway’s 36-34 win over Roselle Park. In Rahway’s first win of the year, Nwaka had nine of her 22 points come at the foul line.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134624" first="Tara" last="Johnson"], University: </strong>Johnson recorded 21 points and knocked down three triples in University’s 90-15 win over Payne Tech. She also had four rebounds and four blocks. Taneshia Tucker added 18 points, five assists and three blocks.
<strong>Secaucus: </strong>Secaucus stayed perfect on the season at 4-0 following a 48-38 victory over Lyndhurst on Monday. In the win, head coach John Sterling secured his 600th victory.
<strong>Olivia Cosenzo, Hanover Park: </strong>Cosenzo finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in Hanover Park’s 52-41 victory over Villa Walsh.
<strong>Aiyona Wood, Dayton: </strong>Wood grabbed 12 rebounds and made six blocks in Dayton’s 43-20 victory over Brearley.
<strong>Dominika Kosiek, Johnson: </strong>Kosiek hauled in 17 rebounds, made five steals and blocked two shots in Johnson’s 52-34 win over Hillside.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="155466" first="Tiffany" last="Fischer"], South River: </strong>Fischer scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, made six steals and had three blocks in South River’s 48-16 victory over South Amboy.
<strong>Kristen Yonker, Middlesex: </strong>Yonker had 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals as Middlesex defeated Dunellen by 40 points.
<strong>Kyla Craddock/Rahkiyyah Browne, Newark Tech: </strong>Craddock and Browne combined for 23 rebounds in Newark Tech’s 37-34 victory over Arts. Aaliyah Amos finished with 21 points and five steals for Arts.
<strong>Chloe Vasquez, Pequannock: </strong>Vasquez had a dominating performance of 22 points, 19 rebounds, eight assists and four steals in Pequannock’s 69-43 win over Hopatcong, pushing Pequannock to a 5-1 mark. Faith Tucker added 22 points and seven rebounds for the team, while [player_tooltip player_id="155467" first="Christy" last="Brennan"] put in a game-high 27 points for Hopatcong.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="159099" first="Tori" last="Fisher"], Piscataway: </strong>Fisher put in 29 points for Piscataway in a 61-55 loss to South Brunswick.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134751" first="Rylie" last="Theuerkauf"], Tenafly: </strong>Theuerkauf hit four 3-pointers and netted 40 of Tenafly’s 48 points in a 64-48 loss to Old Tappan, which improved to 3-0. Sophia Berisha led Old Tappan with 27 points. It was Theuerkauf’s second 40-point performance of the season. She is averaging a whopping 37.2 points per game.
<strong>Riley Starke, Riverside: </strong>Starke scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Riverside past New Egypt, 51-49. Ally Mudrinic added 16 points and 11 steals.
<strong>Meghan Lamanna, New Providence: </strong>Lamanna put in 31 points in New Providence’s 60-37 win over Cranford. The Pioneers improved to 4-0.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134626" first="Madison" last="St. Rose"], St. John Vianney: </strong>St. Rose put in a game-high 28 points and made seven steals for St. John Vianney in its 73-42 win over Holmdel.
<strong>Kennedy Campbell, Cape May Tech: </strong>Campbell finished with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in Cape May Tech’s 58-26 loss to unbeaten Middle Township.
