East Lansing (W) vs. Haslett
Ella Miller Ella Miller 6'0" | PF East Lansing | 2022 State MI (2022, F, East Lansing)
Ella Miller Ella Miller 6'0" | PF East Lansing | 2022 State MI is as advertised and should play college basketball in the future. She’s a grinder that works really hard on the glass. Miller establishes position in the post, where she worked off a nice spin move and liked to dish the ball back out to shooters. She does a good job going to the pass instead of waiting for it to arrive. Miller also had a pretty pass in transition.
Soraya Timms (2022, G, East Lansing)
Timms is a player that I’d never had the opportunity to focus on, and I’m glad that I finally did. She had a nice lefty take working off a screen. Timms consistently went left, got in the lane, and created for herself as well as her teammates. She made a difference on defense too, forcing multiple turnovers.
Emily Homan (2023, F, Haslett)
Homan has a really nice future as a basketball player. She contributes in a lot of ways, including scoring and dishing the ball off. Homan worked hard without the ball, showed 3 point range on her jumper, and showed a nice shot fake to create space. She’s also a deceptively strong ball handler.
Ellie Humble (2023, G, Haslett)
Humble has the look of a dangerous 3 point shooter. She hit a deep triple, and later, buried one from the corner. Humble stalked the perimeter all night looking for her shot. She also had a nice baseline drive that she drew a foul on and connected on both free throws.
Sand Creek (W) vs. Columbia Central
Emily Carbajal (2023, F, Sand Creek)
Carbajal was huge in this game. She score in a variety of ways, including a spin move in the paint with her back to the basket and multiple straight line drives to the right. Carbajal passed the ball well, with a couple leading to assists. She was a factor defensively with a big block late in the 2nd quarter.
Kindell Covey (2021, F, Sand Creek)
Covey made some critical plays in the game. She collected a pass on the move and finished for 2. Covey also scored 2 key points under the rim through a defender. She showed some shooting touch with a free throw line jumper.
Zoie Bamm Zoie Bamm 6'1" | PF Brooklyn Columbia Central | 2023 State MI (2023, C, Columbia Central)
Bamm is such a tough matchup. She works tirelessly in the paint, fighting for position under the rim. Bamm was able to finish on both sides of the basket going over both her left and right shoulder. She drew fouls and got to the line. Bamm showed why she’s considered a high upside prospect.
Taiya Fletcher (2021, G, Columbia Central)
Fletcher was a threat all over the floor. She had a really nice baseline take off the dribble for a bucket, among many tough finishes in traffic. Fletcher was a factor on the offensive glass, even picking up a put back basket.
