<p class="p1">It was a battle between future collegiate athletes in the NC 4A West Regional Final with the Zebulon B. Vance Cougars hosting the Providence Panthers.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>The following are some of the standouts from that competition.</p>
<p class="p1">Let’s start with the players who have committed to colleges.</p>
<p class="p1"><b><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Tanajah-Hayes-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826215.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-259928 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Tanajah-Hayes-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826215-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="116877" first="Tanajah" last="Hayes"]</b> (Vance, G, 2021) starts the game with a solid block, stealing the possession and pushing it up the court finding her open teammate for some easy points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can also grab rebounds for her teammates coming out of nowhere as she follows shots.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her defense was lethal the whole game grabbing steals and knocking the ball away.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is committed to play at Florida International University.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="116888" first="Amhyia" last="Moreland"]</b> (Vance, PF, 2021) is a rebounding machine, and she knows how to use<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Amhyia-Moreland-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826276.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-259930 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Amhyia-Moreland-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826276-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> offensive rebounds to score some second chance points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has post moves that she can use when she gets set up in an offense that are certainly hard to defend.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her abilities don’t stop away from the basket as she can shoot it from behind the three point line as well.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She finished with 22 points in the semifinal matchup including her 1000th point in high school, and she is taking those talents to Old Dominion University next year.</p>
<p class="p1"><b><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Nyla-McGill-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826322.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-259932 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Nyla-McGill-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826322-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>[player_tooltip player_id="201028" first="Nyla" last="McGill"]</b> (Providence, PG, 2021) has an amazing ability to find her open teammates right next to the basket no matter where she is on the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She can jump into passing lanes, too, grabbing steals for her team.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She makes her way to the basket weaving in and out of her opponents in order to lay it in.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She finished with 13 points in the semifinal matchup.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>The Yale commit is certainly going to be able to make some immediate impact for her team next year.</p>
<p class="p1">Here are some players who certainly have the potential to play at the next level.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="217523" first="Leah" last="Barringer"]</b> (Vance, G, 2021) can move dynamically with the ball and find the basket<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Leah-Barringer-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826372.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-259934 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Leah-Barringer-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826372-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> scoring her points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She did so from the baseline and right down the middle of the paint.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She showed she can pick the pocket of her opponents on defense as well pushing the ball up the court after grabbing the steal.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She had a nice crossover move to get herself open and score three points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She finished with 11 points in the semifinals game.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="158315" first="Trinity" last="Moreland"]</b> (Vance, C, 2022) does a great job making her presence felt inside sealing off her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She moves up and down the court well looking for transition points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is a force inside making it difficult for opponents to guard her or get anything accomplished close to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She finished with 8 points in the game.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Madison Skinner</b> (Providence, G, 2022) follows shots looking for rebounds to continue the possession for her team or end it for her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has a nice shot from behind the arc as well hitting shots at just the right time to give some life to her team. Her quick decision to shoot makes it difficult to close out on her before she is able to release the ball.</p>
<p class="p1"><b><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Eva-Butler-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826437.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-259936 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Eva-Butler-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826437-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>Eva Butler</b> (Providence, G, 2022) does a great job jumping in front of passes keeping her opponents in front of her on defense.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She is effective on the other end of the court, too, showing off her shot from downtown.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her speed is an asset on the court allowing her to chase down loose balls even beating opponents who had a head start on her.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="252857" first="Delanie" last="Hill"]</b> (Providence, G, 2024) can certainly get spacing from her opponents making<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Delanie-HIll-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826487.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-259938 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/03/Delanie-HIll-scaled-crop-1920x1261-1614826487-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> them move one way while she goes the other to show off her shot.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She runs the floor well looking for the pass in transition.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She grabbed steals of her own to push up the court, too.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She has great vision of the court finding her open teammates constantly keeping her head on a swivel.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She follows shots grabbing rebounds, too.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="252856" first="Lindsey" last="Nolan"]</b> (Providence, PF, 2024) playing in her first high school playoffs certainly didn’t show any nerves. She was in the right place at the right time grabbing passes from her guards and rebounds after shots.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She finished with 11 points in the semifinal matchup with Vance.</p>
