6’0 PF [player_tooltip player_id="210722" first="Fadima" last="Tall"] – Georgetown Visitation – Fairfax Stars
With her program’s season canceled completely this year, Fadima is as eager as anyone to get back on the court for summer league. There’s no doubt that she has been training rigorously during this extra-long offseason, however, there’s simply nothing comparable to high level game-time competition. Fadima will be an integral part of the Georgetown Visitation squad next year, and her low post moves are some of the best in the area, especially for her size. Her prowess, however, is defense and shot blocking. Look out for [player_tooltip player_id="210722" first="Fadima" last="Tall"] to be one of the elite players this summer during her grassroots play with the Fairfax Stars.
6’2 PF [player_tooltip player_id="137243" first="Kadidia" last="Toure"] – Good Counsel – Germantown Lady Panthers
Like Georgetown Visitation, Good Counsel was another program whose season was cut very short due to the pandemic. Regardless, [player_tooltip player_id="137243" first="Kadidia" last="Toure"] will no doubt be the primary paint presence on both sides of the ball for the Falcons next season. She’s also able to get out in transition because she steals the ball so prevalently on defense. Her strong understanding of the game is shown by her ball movement and it is also present in her transition play. Kadidia is the epitome of a team player, and, because of her unselfishness, Good Counsel will certainly be a strong program during her Senior campaign.
6’3 PF [player_tooltip player_id="137230" first="Delaney" last="Yarborough"] – McDonogh – Lady Thrill
There’s no better rebounder on this list than [player_tooltip player_id="137230" first="Delaney" last="Yarborough"] and there may not be a better one in all of Maryland. She simply has a knack for rebounding, and her ability to put herself in the correct position on both sides of the ball is beyond stellar. Delaney also has strong post scoring abilities, and she is absolutely not afraid to drive to the basket. She’s a pass first player, however, and her presence was crucial during McDonogh’s undefeated season this year. There’s no doubt that Delaney and the Eagles can keep their unbeaten streak alive into 2022.
6’3 PF [player_tooltip player_id="88798" first="Hannah" last="Dereje"] – Elizabeth Seton – Maryland Lady Finest
[player_tooltip player_id="88798" first="Hannah" last="Dereje"] has the best mid-range jump shot in Maryland. At 6’3, it’s almost too easy for her to get her shot off and that’s not to mention her immense offensive rebounding skill. She’s also an incredibly strong shot blocker with a lengthy wingspan, and both of these will translate perfectly at the next level. Watch for Elizabeth Seton to make a run next season, with Dereje leading the charge for the Roadrunners.
5’11 PF [player_tooltip player_id="137234" first="Emi" last="Marshall"] – Sidwell Friends – Germantown Lady Panthers
The Sidwell Friends program has an extremely bright future, and [player_tooltip player_id="137234" first="Emi" last="Marshall"]’s impact at power forward is paramount. She has a phenomenal tandem working with Quaker star point guard [player_tooltip player_id="25461" first="Kiki" last="Rice"], and this relationship is a true representation of Emi’s ability to communicate and work as an effective teammate. What really stands out when you watch Emi is her energy. On both sides of the ball, she’s extremely scrappy and plays with a lot of heart. The Sidwell Friends Fighting Quakers will be a top DMV area team next season without question.
