PASS (Preferred Athlete Scouting Services) hosted a 15U-17U tournament this past weekend in Wesley Chapel, FL. There was a lot of talent in the building and the 2022 had some impressive, unsigned post players on display. Below are five of them as well as two guards who stood out in the games I saw:
[player_tooltip player_id="151169" first="Cerina" last="Rolle"] - 5’9 G/F - Hoop Dreams Elite
Toughness! Cerina is one of the most fun players to watch in the state. She’s so strong around the rim and is a pest on defense. She can score it from all three levels. Cerina just doesn’t stop, either. High motor hooper that knows the game and plays hard on every play on both ends.
[player_tooltip player_id="154908" first="Enjulina" last="Gonzalez"] - 5’9 G - Team Knight 3SSB
This girl is silky smooth with the rock. Enjulina can score in bunches, but her mid-range game and ability to create are the best parts of her offensive game. She has good length for a guard and takes care of the ball with some crafty moves and finishes at the rim.
[player_tooltip player_id="91568" first="Zaria" last="Blake"] - 6’1 W/F - Team Knight 3SSB
She was the most consistent 2022 I saw this weekend. Zaria can do it all and has tremendous size and length at her position. She does a great job of crashing the boards and protecting the paint on the defensive side.
[player_tooltip player_id="91563" first="Mya" last="Kone"] - 6’2 W/F - Team Knight 3SSB
It’s nice to see Mya on the floor. She’s been a top player in the state, but hasn’t been able to play often because of injuries. Mya was erasing shots left and right this weekend. It’s hard to stop this lefty with how much size she has and how smooth she is with the ball.
[player_tooltip player_id="248561" first="Dyllan" last="Hannah"] - 6’3 C - ECU 2022 Clarke
Dyllan was the best rebounding posts I watched this weekend. She got position even though she was bigger than most of her opponents. Her ability to block shots and her explosiveness to grab a board or finish at the hole makes her a really impressive big.
[player_tooltip player_id="154906" first="Kennedy" last="Cannon"] - 6’3 - ECU 2022 Navy
Kennedy was the tallest, lengthiest post I got to see all weekend. I saw her block a ton of shots, secure some big rebounds, and used her soft touch to put back all of the offensive rebounds she grabbed.
[player_tooltip player_id="220008" first="Lauren" last="Lockhart"] - 6’0 W/F - FGB South Florida Runnin’ Rebels
Lauren was the strongest and most athletic player I saw. She was impressive with how quick and high she could elevate. Lauren finished with both hands and has some clean post moves and a smooth stroke.
