I wanted to recognize some of the best freshmen from the 2020-21 season. So, here are five standout 2024 prospects:
Paris Bradley Paris Bradley 5'10" | SF Hebron | 2024 State TX | 2024 | 5’9’’ Combo Guard | Hebron HS – Bradley was an absolute weapon on offense for Hebron as a freshman. Her feel for the game was outstanding for a first-year player. The 2024 floor general was brilliant as a facilitator, making great decisions and delivering accurate passes with regularity. She was excellent and versatile as a scorer too, making her an all-around threat.
Kaelyn Hamilton Kaelyn Hamilton 5'10" | SF McKinney North | 2024 State TX | 2024 | 5’10’’ Small Forward | McKinney North HS – As a freshman, Hamilton ended the season as McKinney North’s leading scorer and assist-getter as well as their second leading rebounder. She quickly emerged as her team’s go-to player. The 5-foot-10-inch forward used her strength and athleticism to play fast but rarely looked out of control, getting downhill and making plays for herself and her teammates. She was also solid as a defender.
Madison Martin Madison Martin 5'7" | PG State TX | 2024 | 5’7’’ Point Guard | Little Elm HS – Martin did a good job of initiating offense this past season. She was terrific at dissecting defenses and expositing their weaknesses, showing off her blazing quickness and great decision-making skills in the process. Furthermore, the Little Elm guard handled the ball well against pressure while also leading her team in assists per game. On defense, Martin was constantly active and engaged, aggressively playing the passing lanes and forcing turnovers, averaging two steals per contest.
Kendall Sneed Kendall Sneed 5'7" | CG Hardin Jefferson | 2024 State TX | 2024 | 5’7’’ Combo Guard | Hardin-Jefferson HS – Sneed was Hardin-Jefferson’s second leading scorer and assist-getter, which is even more impressive when you consider that Ashlon Jackson Ashlon Jackson 5'10" | SG Hardin Jefferson | 2022 State #22 Nation TX was the only player on her team to average better numbers. She was dynamic at both ends of the floor, creating for herself and others on offense while defending at a high level at the other end of the floor. Beyond that, Sneed’s finishing ability at the basket was exceptional and her contributions as a rebounder stood out as well.
Naiya Carney | 2024 | 5’6’’ Combo Guard | Dallas Skyline HS – Carney had some really strong outings in her first year of varsity ball, accounting for double-digit points in five of her games. She was solid when attacking off the dribble, a capable shooter from distance, and a competitor on offense and defense. Additionally, the Dallas Skyline guard was shifty as a ball handler, navigating the floor beautifully while reading defenses.
