Palmetto State hoops fans became very familiar with the Convocation Center at the conclusion of this past high school season when it was the site of the SCHSL state championship games for both girls and boys basketball.
We at Prep Girls Hoops were thrilled to take in the latest travel event in the CSRA. Here is a look at who made their shots and put up big scoring numbers.
Te’Ericka Dowling – 2025 – Byrnes HS (Duncan) – SC76ers – On Saturday, SC76ers’ eighth grade team had a pair of dominant performances over Georgia-based Southern Queens teams. One of those occurred against Southern Queens’ Gold team – a 46-14 victorious decision and Dowling, a hoops equivalent of a football TD, was a major contributor to those efforts. She made a pair of threes and also was true on one of her free throw attempts. Dowling is not afraid to take shots from long range. Teams must watch out for her on defense as well as she will intercept passes. Dowling had nine points in SC76ers’ first game and 10 points in the team’s second contest against Southern Queens.
Jamera Madison Jamera Madison 5'7" | CG Darlington | 2023 State SC – 2023 – Darlington HS – One Force – Madison will score at will, as she did when she set the tone by scoring the first points for One Force in its game with Southern Queens’ 2024 team. She particularly will score at will near the rim and has no problems going through a sea of defenders to do so, but possesses an effective jump shot from range. Madison is also a threat to dish the ball out to open teammates and put them in possession to score points. She is very quick and very agile. She scored 13 points against Southern Queens (58-32 win) and 14 points vs. Carolina Blazers (62-34 win).
Trinity Jones Trinity Jones 5'7" | PG Desert Vista | 2025 State AZ – 2025 – Greenville HS – SC76ers – Trinity gets it done again and again. She displayed a great deal of creativity with her ability to handle the ball. Jones can shoot from long range – whether those are long 2s or if she takes 3-point attempts. In addition, she is a very potent passer who knows how to find open teammates and make extra passes. When SC76ers eighth graders dominated Southern Queens Red team.
Jaidah Liebert Jaidah Liebert 5'9" | SF Spring Valley | 2023 State SC – 2023 – Spring Valley HS – SC76ers – Liebert puts herself at full liberty to make things happen on the basketball surface. Whether that means trying 3-point shots or being an effective passer in the low post. It could also connotate to Liebert’s ability to battle for rebounds and dive after 50-50 loose balls. Liebert can also find her way to the rim, whether uncontested or against an array of defenders and she has no problem with attracting contact and finding her way to the free throw line to make shots from the stripe.
