There are always top performers in every state throughout the high school season especially in West Virginia. Listed below are the top eight girls from class “AA” who had the best seasons. [player_tooltip player_id="153325" first="Skylar" last="Davidson"] - Wyoming East - 2021 - Guard Glenville State signee and Wyoming East guard [player_tooltip player_id="153325" first="Skylar" last="Davidson"] had a huge senior season. Davidson led the Warriors to the “AA” State Championship. Davidson in the season averaged 16.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 6.3 steals. She is one of the scrappiest players throughout the state defensively. Wyoming East speeds up the game with their pressure. [player_tooltip player_id="153374" first="Leslie" last="Huffman"] - Parkersburg Catholic - 2022 - Guard One of the top 2022 guards in the state had yet another tremendous season. [player_tooltip player_id="153374" first="Leslie" last="Huffman"] of Parkersburg Catholic helped lead the team to the State Championship game. Huffman averaged 19.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 3.6 steals a game. Huffman is known for a lot of her offensive game, but her defensive ability is just as strong. She guards the ball very well limiting defenders to get by her. [player_tooltip player_id="153328" first="Aaliyah" last="Brunny"] - Parkersburg Catholic - 2021 - Forward Fairmont Senior signee [player_tooltip player_id="153328" first="Aaliyah" last="Brunny"] capped off her high school hoops career in a great fashion. Brunny averaged 18.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.8 steals per game. Brunny at 6’1 is a very athletic wing, using her length defensively to create loose balls. It is hard to match up against Brunny being so tall, lengthy, and athletic. [player_tooltip player_id="153380" first="Marié" last="Perdew"] - Frankfort - 2022 - Guard Heading up north to Frankfort junior, [player_tooltip player_id="153380" first="Marié" last="Perdew"]. Perdew is coming off a great junior season. She averaged 25.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Perdew uses her size ability to have strong drives and be able to move defenders more easily. She is never forcing her shot but does like to create her space to get open looks. Sydney Bolles - Charleston Catholic - 2021 - Forward Sydney Bolles of Charleston Catholic led the Irish back to Charleston for the first time since 2018. Bolles averaged 17.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. One of the best 2021 girls still available in West Virginia. Bolles presents incredible length with her size and wingspan. She is one of the tougher forwards when it comes to creating looks. Her footwork is incredible being able to maneuver for the open shot. [player_tooltip player_id="153433" first="Abby" last="Russell"] - Wyoming East - 2023 - Guard Having a championship-caliber team involves an important factor, defense. For Wyoming East sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="153433" first="Abby" last="Russell"] she had some big shoes to fill with little experience. However, Russell excelled in her role. With Davidson and Russell, Wyoming East forced turnovers all season long. Russell averaged 10.9 points and 4.6 steals per game but her hustle doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. Russell impressed in areas not only being a defender but a consistent shooter from mid-range and behind the arc. [player_tooltip player_id="153331" first="Mady" last="Winters"] - Magnolia - 2021 - Center Magnolia’s senior leader had her best season as she finished out her high school career. [player_tooltip player_id="153331" first="Mady" last="Winters"] averaged 28.1 points, 17.8 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks per game. She achieved the all-time school scoring record with 1,531 points. She also had over 1,000 rebounds. Winters will play Volleyball at Wheeling University next year.
[player_tooltip player_id="153332" first="Annie" last="Hunt"] - Ravenswood - 2021 - Guard Wheeling signee [player_tooltip player_id="153332" first="Annie" last="Hunt"] helped lead Ravenswood back to the State Tournament for the first time since 2012. Hunt averaged 16 points per game in her senior season. Hunt will continue her basketball career at Wheeling University.
