Now that the grassroots season is in full swing, teams and individuals are really beginning to hit their stride and show what they are capable of.
With that in mind, here are five more standout 2022 prospects from the tournament:
Raven Busby | 2022 | 5’10” Combo Guard | Team Lex Loaded | North Forney HS – Busby showed good scoring ability from inside and outside. She was solid from beyond the arc, evidenced by back-to-back catch-and-shoot corner threes in her opening contest of the tournament. In her second outing of the event, the North Forney guard showed off her burst in the open court with several coast-to-coast layups. She did some good work when attacking the basket off the dribble in the half-court as well.
Savannah Adjetey | 2022 | 5’6” Combo Guard | DC Queens (White) | Plano East HS – Adjetey’s grittiness on defense immediately caught my eye. She was consistently down in a stance and engaged at that end of the floor, scraping and clawing for every inch when defending on the ball. The Plano East guard had some highlights on offense too, including an ankle-breaking crossover followed by a mid-range jumper off the bounce from the elbow. She provided her team with two-way value in both of her Saturday games.
Ashley Anderson | 2022 | 5’7” Shooting Guard | Flight 9 Elite Gravely | Frisco Liberty HS – Anderson was a reliable three-point shooter for her team this weekend. She was outstanding when spotting up from deep. The Liberty guard can also create her own shot off the dribble and likes to do so from mid-range. She hit shots from a variety of areas during the tournament, showing good mechanics on her jumper. Additionally, she is a savvy player who moves well without the ball and has a good feel for the game.
Madison Pham | 2022 | 5’6” Combo Guard | Team Lex Supreme | Lake Ridge HS – Pham did a good job of balancing her scoring and playmaking responsibilities this weekend. She created for herself and others in numerous ways. The Lake Ridge guard knocked down off-balance mid-range shots while on the move as well as some triples from the catch. As a facilitator, she found her teammates in advantageous scoring positions and was willing to make the extra pass on the perimeter to turn a good look into a great look.
Paris Miller | 2022 | 5’10” Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Texas Platinum Tyler – Robertson | Brownsboro HS – Miller possesses good height and length to play out on the wing. She defended numerous positions and was impressive when matched up against bigs with size advantages down low. Miller also did a variety of things well at the other end. In her afternoon game on Saturday, the 2022 prospect drilled a corner three, scored on the block, and made some nice moves to the basket after utilizing shot and pass fakes.
