Prep Girls Hoops Missouri spent an evening at Lift for Life Academy to take in the action at its summer league. Here is a look at the top teams.
Cardinal Ritter: The Lions showcased much of their young talent from their Class 5 state quarterfinals team. Class of 2024 point guard Chantrel "TuTu" Clayton is an offensive force while 6’1" 2024 wing [player_tooltip player_id="194408" first="Hannah" last="Wallace"] can impact the game at both ends with her athleticism. 2022 guard Mariah Maxie competes with a high motor while 6’2" 2024 Ai'Naya Williams brings size to the inside. The Lions defeated Webster Groves 56-53 in a very entertaining game.
Webster Groves: The Stateswomen made a surprise run to the Class 6 state championship game in 2021 and a few of those valuable players are back from that team, led by 6’3" 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="177088" first="Eliza" last="Maupin"], who has size and a versatile skill set. Class of 2022 guards [player_tooltip player_id="234576" first="Ellie" last="Paloucek"] and Jenna Clark can both shoot and handle the ball.
Pattonville: The Pirates have a young and talented team that will be good for the next three to four years. 2023 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="260299" first="Cami" last="Stacker"] has quickness and scoring ability while 5’9" 2025 Brooke Boyce is a up and coming talent who will make an early impact. 2023 guard [player_tooltip player_id="299155" first="Taylor" last="Montgomery"] is a transfer from Marquette who will be a big addition. The Pirates were without top player [player_tooltip player_id="204492" first="Jasmine" last="Gray"] on this day.
