[player_tooltip player_id="100445" first="Decontee" last="Smith"] - Central Cass - (5’8/SF/2023) - Smith has amazing athleticism. Her ability to change speeds on the court with the basketball is next level. She has great footwork on both sides of the court and is an elite-level defender making it tough on opposing offenses to get into a steady flow. Smith should be a target on all schools within the region as she shows a lot of hunger and prowess to becoming a great basketball player.
[player_tooltip player_id="242902" first="Allison" last="Undlin"] - Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood - (6’2/C/2023) - A 6’2 paint beast Undlin is a monster of a basketball player. She’s an offenses nightmare as she makes it tough to get paint touches and uses her size to snag rebounds and block shots. If she develops more as an offensive post with a few moves that she can perfect over the summer you’ll see a huge acceleration within her contribution.
[player_tooltip player_id="99826" first="Jaylin" last="Cotton"] - Central Cass - (5’11/C/2022) - Jaylin has decent size for playing the Center position. She can really mix it up on the offensive end being able to play back to the basket and hitting a solid mid-range jump shot. She’s very versatile within the pick n roll and can cause a lot of trouble for opposing defenders if she develops the ability to put the basket on the floor with one or two solid moves. She has nice footwork in defending outside shooting forwards and has an above-average ceiling for playing at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="250217" first="Avery" last="Rath"] - Kidder County - (5’6/PG/2023) - Rath is a defensive menace. She plays excellent man-to-man defense. She stays up on her man not backing down till the ball leaves to another player. She plays well within Kidder County’s 2-1-2 and 2-3 zone defense sitting at the top often to anticipate a steal and a quick bucket. Don’t be surprised if Rath starts putting up some serious offensive numbers this coming year with the departure of graduate [player_tooltip player_id="98728" first="Madelyn" last="Schmidt"].
[player_tooltip player_id="207067" first="Bethany" last="Schmidt"] - Tioga - (6’0/C/2022) - Another 6’ athletic post. Schmidt has good size and footwork that makes her an above-average post defender. She uses her size well in boxing out and securing rebounds as well can really jump to obtain those longer boards. She has good court vision in pushing the ball up to a guard in transition and runs the floor great trailing. She’ll be looked to contribute more offensively for the Pirates to push over a .500 record this year in a solid Region 8.
