The 2021 Nike Girls EYBL Nationals kicked off this week in Augusta, GA. The event welcomes the 32 Nike Sponsored travel programs from across the country. We got a chance to check out the Miami Suns and Essence Girls Basketball 17U and 16U teams as they are the two Nike sponsored programs in the state of Florida.
2022
Janiah Barker Janiah Barker 6'2" | SF Montverde Academy | 2022 State #3 Nation FL – 6’4 Wing – Essence Girls Basketball 17U TipHayes Purple
Barker is 6’4, athletic, and has guard like skills! She is a big-time athlete who can cover a lot of ground, has great length, and has an impressive vertical! She had the play of the day, intercepting a pass vs DFW, and taking it coast to coast herself with a finger roll at the rim. She recently announced her top five, narrowing down her schools to Ole Miss, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisville, and Duke.

Stock riser! Big guard who can knock down the open 3 and is strong! Her body is impressive and really stands out when standing alongside opponents. Her physical attributes make her ready to step on the court for a college program right now. Her skill set and offensive productivity are solid and make her a well-rounded player who can be a solid D1 prospect!
Marissa Brown Marissa Brown 6'0" | PF Choctawhatchee | 2022 State FL – 6’0 Wing – Essence Girls Basketball 17U TipHayes Purple
Stock riser! Brown is a big guard/wing who can impact the game on both ends of the floor due to her size and strength. She can score in a variety of ways showcasing her ability to put the ball to the floor as well as knock it down from 3!
Fatima Diakhate Fatima Diakhate 6'6" | C Montverde Academy | 2022 State FL – 6’5 Center – Essence Girls Basketball 17U TipHayes Purple
Diakhate is all of 6’5 and her length and size are impressive! She moves well, doing a good job getting up and down the floor, keeping up with the pace of the game. She moves more fluidly and has grown into her body. Essence used her length well vs opposing teams playing zone, having her seal on the low block, looking to lob it to her over the top on the diagonal pass. She has a major presence as a shot blocker and rebounder and with an improved offensive floor game, she remains one of the nation’s most intriguing post prospects that college coaches continue to evaluate and try and make a decision of what her upside is after 2 years in a college strength and conditioning program.

Erica Moon Erica Moon 5'7" | PG St. Francis | 2023 State GA 5’8 Point Guard – Essence Girls Basketball 17U TipHayes Purple

Quick, aggressive, athletic, pesky penetrating guard that likes to play an up-tempo game and pushes the ball in transition. She does a good job playing downhill and attacking the rim off the dribble and is very good pressuring the ball and playing in full court pressure as a defender.
Alancia Ramsey Alancia Ramsey 6'0" | PF St Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State FL 6’1 Center – Essence Girls Basketball 16U
Ramsey is a strong interior post player with broad shoulders. She is a very physical player who plays tough on the inside and can finish vs contact. She typically is the first to initiate contact and sets the tone for the battle inside. She is bigger and stronger than most of her front court mates at the 16U level and is an extremely aggressive rebounder!

Played limited minutes behind Fatima Diakhate Fatima Diakhate 6'6" | C Montverde Academy | 2022 State FL and Janiah Barker Janiah Barker 6'2" | SF Montverde Academy | 2022 State #3 Nation FL . Big strong body who came off bench and played strong and physical. Her size and mass make her a tough matchup for opponents as she is hard to move out of the paint and off the block!
2024
Tai Harvey Tai Harvey 5'9" | PF Campbell | 2024 State GA 5’9 Wing/Forward – Essence Girls Basketball 16U
Harvey is an undersized post that is strong and has mass. She is tough to move down low when she establishes position in the paint. She plays bigger than her size and makes up for what she lacks in inches with physical and aggressive play.
Khadee Hession Khadee Hession 5'10" | CG St Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State FL 5’9 Point Guard – Essence Girls Basketball 16U
Hession is one of the state’s top guards in the class of 2024. She is an aggressive scoring point guard who is big and strong. She attacks with the ball in transition and is extremely comfortable pushing the ball in up tempo situations. She is a play maker who can equally create opportunities for her teammates to score easy baskets as well as find ways to get to the rim.
Kazahria Johnson 6’2 Center – Essence Girls Basketball 16U
Johnson continues to be one of the most improved players with big time potential! Her coordination, ability to run the floor, play on balance, and finish with her back to the basket have all dramatically improved. At 6’2 she is very long and athletic and with continued development, she will be one of the countries most coveted players by college basketball programs. She displayed a back to basket skill set with the ability to score with her back to the basket and finish with both hands. She had a big-time double move vs DFW on an up and under finishing with the left hand!
SaMya Wyatt 6’2 Center – Essence Girls Basketball 16U
Wyatt’s body immediately grabs your attention in warmups, and it carries over to her play and presence in the game. At 6’2 she is long and athletic. She can play inside and out. Her length and athleticism allow her to get her hands on a lot of balls and be in the mix in a lot of plays. She has good leaping ability and is an impactful rebounder on both ends of the floor. Her ability to knock down a 15-foot jump shot from the baseline and high post really opens up the floor for her and makes her much more versatile. She has a ton of potential and is an extremely intriguing player.
Chazadi Wright Chazadi Wright 5'5" | PG Wesleyan | 2024 State GA 5’4 Point Guard – Essence Girls Basketball 16U
Wrigh is a quick, small guard with good shooting form and a quick release. She is deadly from 3 and helps Essence space the floor to play penetrate and kick.
