Throughout the month of June, many of the state’s prospects took advantage of some down time from the travel scene and went on the road to college campuses for unofficial visits, official visits, elite camps, and team camps. Where have the state’s 2022-23 prospects been in June.
2022
Katie Ambrose Katie Ambrose 5'5" | PG Gulf Coast | 2022 State FL (Gulf Coast HS / Candice Dupree)
Ambrose covered both the east coast and the west coast traveling out to San Diego, CA to attend Point Loma elite camp then traveling to Pennsylvania to visit Saint Francis for an official visit and picking up a scholarship offer. Ambrose is one of the state’s top point guard with excellent court vision, impressive handle, high basketball IQ, and a smooth 3 point stroke.
Sydney Shaw Sydney Shaw 5'9" | SG DME Academy | 2022 State FL (American Heritage / Miami Suns)
Shaw headed up north, visiting New York’s team St. John’s University of an official visit. She returned to Florida and made the trip up to Tallahassee attending Florida State’s team camp with American Heritage. Shaw is one of the state’s top 5 prospects in Florida’s 2022 class and one of the countries top prospects. The 5’7 guard is an elite scorer who can put the ball in the basket in a multitude of ways and is capable of leading her team to a 10-0 run by herself at any given moment in the game!
Amiya Evans Amiya Evans 6'2" | PF DME Academy | 2022 State FL (Tampa Prep / Miami Suns)
Evans is one of the nation’s most highly coveted post prospects and hit the road hard in the mid-west visiting University of Michigan, Ohio State, and University of Cincinnati before returning to Florida and visiting University of Miami. Evans unique combination of size, strength, mass, skill, and versatility make her a hot target for collegiate programs across the country.
Joey Delancy Joey Delancy 5'8" | CG American Heritage | 2022 State FL (American Heritage / Miami Suns)
Delancy took to the read and traveled to Tulane for a campus visit and returned back to Florida and spent the afternoon at Florida Atlantic with new head coach Jennifer Sullivan. Delancy is a versatile perimeter player that can play 2, 3, and 4.
Jordana Codio Jordana Codio 6'1" | SF Montverde Academy | 2022 State FL (Montverde Academy / Essence)
Codio traveled to Austin, Texas to visit with Head Coach Vic Schaefer and staff after verbally committing to UT several weeks earlier. Codio was formerly committed to Wisconsin but de-committed after the head coach was fired. Codio is a very unique player, as she is a 6’2 perimeter player with an extremely long wing span and is incredibly athletic. She is not playing this summer due to injury but has remained on the road, traveling with Essence.
2023
Yakiya Milton (East Coast United)
Yakiya picked up a scholarship offer after attending the University of Miami’s Elite Camp. Milton has established herself this spring/summer as a high energy forward who runs the floor, blocks shots, rebounds, and is not afraid to do the dirty work. She is tall, long, athletic, and plays with a ton of energy and passion.
Taliah Scott Taliah Scott 5'8" | SG St. John's Country Day | 2023 State #31 Nation FL (Oakleaf / FGB)
Scott is one of the nation’s most coveted prospects. After traveling out to Colorado for the USA trials, Scott headed to Alabama to visit new Head Coach Johnnie Harris and the rest of the Auburn staff. Scott’s a human highlight film that can play all 3 perimeter positions and is a lethal scorer. She would be a major impact player in the SEC and huge haul for Auburn in their first year as a new coaching staff!
Liv Fuller Liv Fuller 5'10" | SF Clearwater | 2023 State FL (Clearwater HS / FGB)
Fuller is one of the state’s top athletes. She hit the road in June traveling locally in Florida to visit with the University of North Florida and Florida Atlantic coaching staffs as well as further north visiting with Georgia Southern. The 6’1 forward is an extremely unique prospect due to her athletic ability, vertical leap, energy, and effort that she plays with on both ends of the floor.
Emma Risch Emma Risch 6'2" | PG Palm Bay | 2023 State #23 Nation FL (Palm Bay / East Coast United)
No one hit the road harder than Emma Risch Emma Risch 6'2" | PG Palm Bay | 2023 State #23 Nation FL , who in two weeks visited Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, NC State, Louisville, and Kentucky! The 6’2 point guard holds offers from all 6 schools and is one of the nation’s most coveted prospects! She will be one of July’s most viewed prospects as she holds a number of offers and has not narrowed down her list to my knowledge. The offers and attention are attribute to her unique combination of being 6’2, while playing the point guard position. She has an excellent basketball IQ, great court vision, deep 3 point range, and has the ability to use her height to see over defenses, shoot over defenders, and score at the rim.
D’Yanis Jimenez D’Yanis Jimenez 5'9" | PG Charlotte | 2023 State FL (Charlotte HS / Miami Suns)
Jimenez bounced onto the national recruiting scene last spring/summer and has continued grabbing the attention of college coaches. During the month of June, Jimenez took the time to make the trip to Tampa to visit University of South Florida and then headed to Gainesville to visit the University of Florida and attend the Gators Elite Camp. The silky, smooth guard holds offers from both colleges and continues to catch the eyes of college coaches throughout the country with her elite offensive skill set!
