2026-27 Standouts from Day 3 – 2021 National Championship By Michael Wholey 8/2/21 10:00 AM EST The 2021 National Championship ran the final 3 days of the July eval period from July 23-25. The event welcomed 400+ teams from all over the country competing in 17U division all the way down to 11U. Here are some of the top players in the 2026 and 2027 classes from Day 3. 2026 Leah Barker 6’4 Center – Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite When you see 6’4 on the roster, it is not a mistake. Barker is all of 6’4 with mass and entering the 8th grade. She jumps out during warmups as she towers over her competition of fellow middle schoolers that most have yet to reach 5’8. Her game is raw and undeveloped, but she has great potential based on her height and mass. She played spot minutes, mainly contributing as a rebounder. Most post players develop later than perimeter players, this will likely be the same for Barker but should she put it all together over the years, she will likely be a player in high demand by college coaches. [player_tooltip player_id="214183" first="Taniyah" last="Davis"] 5’8 Wing - Florida Lady Huskies Davis did not play her best in the games I saw her play but I have seen her play enough to know what her abilities are. She is a stud wing who despite the fact that she is only in 7th grade, looks like she could step on the floor and be a contributing varsity player right now. She has a great combination of height and athleticism and can really score the basketball! She is a big time prospect with unlimited potential and a super high ceiling! [player_tooltip player_id="221611" first="KaiLynn" last="Gibson"] 5’3 Point Guard - Florida Lady Huskies Gibson is an elite guard who can get to the rack and plays super aggressive. She has excellent handle and has really good open court moves and ball handling skills. She plays with a ton of confidence and is a high energy player that is very competitive. She has a chance to be a major college prospect if her game continues to develop at the same rate and she continues to grow and get stronger. Jaelynn Housey 5’8 Guard - Florida Lady Huskies Houssey is a strong, athletic aggressive guard. She does a really good job attacking the paint and scoring at the rim. Her strong build is impressive for such a young player. Love her energy and levels on both ends of the court as both an offensive player and a defender. [player_tooltip player_id="221594" first="Marissa" last="Arellano"] 5’2 Guard – Florida Lady Huskies Small, young guard who has excellent ball skills and plays with confidence. FLH played her mainly at the off guard position, giving her an opportunity to attack her defenders off the dribble from the wing. [player_tooltip player_id="221613" first="Alyssa" last="Hallman"] 5’10 Forward – Florida Lady Huskies Tall, young post who mainly plays the role of rebounder, shot blocker, and passer. At 5’10 she towers several inches over most of her competition. She does a good job on finishing put backs in the paint and finishing drop passes from the guards and she runs the floor hard! Valeria Munoz 5’3 Guard – 2025 Team Florida Collazo Small, slender guard with decent handle. She played well in the open court pushing the ball in transition and attacking the rim. She has good ball skills and does a good job setting up her teammates for scoring opportunities. 2027 Aariyah Denmark 5'11 Forward – 2025 Team Florida Collazo Young post player with mass. Played well in several games. Moved well getting up and down the floor. Is bigger, stronger, and taller than large majority of players in her age division. Lots of potential for a young player - will be one to follow and track her progress. [player_tooltip player_id="221593" first="Yinou" last="Wang"] 5’2 Guard – Florida Lady Huskies Talented, skilled young guard who has a skill set mature beyond her age. She is a really good passer with ability to score attacking the rim as well as shooting from the outside. [player_tooltip player_id="243916" first="Victoria" last="Valle"] 5’4 Guard – Florida Lady Huskies Young, aggressive scoring guard that is part of a very talented group of perimeter players for the Florida Lady Huskies. The team struggled in the game I saw them play vs a very talented Wisconsin Lakers squad but Valle did a good job keeping her composure and continuing to compete. We will look to continue to cover all across the state of Florida. Our audience supplies us with some of our best information. Keep us updated on Florida news be emailing me at WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com or DM’ing me through Twitter or Instagram @WholeyPrepHoops.
