Here is the fourth part of the series looking at some of the top players I saw at the SCOH50 College Showcase held in Portsmouth last weekend.
<span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">[player_tooltip player_id="313114" first="Reece" last="Barnitz"], 5-7 2023, Fairland</span></strong></span>
High energy guard who despite suffering an injury, showed she kind of talent she has. I was impressed with her motor, and her ability to penetrate to the rim and score. Shifty with good footwork and active hands, Reece will be back soon and looks forward to a big junior season. She does a good job handling both ends of the floor and is a good on-ball defender.
<span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Alaina Keeney, 5-10 2022, Wheelersburg</span></strong></span>
Long and athletic wing who has excellent court vision, and does a great job looking up the court in transition. She is able to utilize her court awareness to push the tempo. Can rebound well and has a good inside-outside game. She heads into her senior season ready to lead the Tigers to a successful season.
<span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Kam Barnitz, 5-7 2025, Fairland</span></strong></span>
She heads into her freshman season as a very skilled player and ready to raise her game to the next level. She has a good first step to the rim and can finish with either hand. She has good handles and plays the game with anticipation of the next play. Kam <em>(feature photo above, courtesy of SCOH50) </em>has an excellent basketball IQ. Able to play either guard spots. Crisp perimeter game.
<span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">[player_tooltip player_id="313110" first="Allie" last="Mongold"], 5-3 2023, Washington Court House</span></strong></span>
Fiery guard who had a good summer. She is an outstanding guard who has excellent fundamentals of the game. She distributes the ball well and looks for the best shot. Has the ability to score with a good perimeter game, good range out to the three and has excellent court vision. Plays solid on-ball defense and not afraid of contact.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;">Miah O’Toole, 5-10 2023, Milford </span></strong>
The Cincinnati area combo guard showed a lot of skill both offensively and on the defensive end of the floor. Smart basketball IQ with the ability to score with either hand at the rim, she also has great body control. Scrappy guard who does the dirty work, gets to the loose balls and does the little things.
