Flight Hankamp was a huge success, featuring some of the most talented players in the state. Needless to say, there were incredible all around athletes at the eent. Here is a look at some of those elite all around athletes.
[player_tooltip player_id="244259" first="Riley" last="Abney"]
Abney is a terrific athlete and that was on display at this event. She can shake defenders and create space between her and her defender off the dribble.
[player_tooltip player_id="244260" first="Maya" last="Anderson"]
Anderson is a tough stop and her elite athleticism is a big reason why. She has outstanding hip movement which makes her unusually shifty on the offensive end.
[player_tooltip player_id="194462" first="Kara" last="Bartels"]
Bartels is going to be a force in the paint this season. She has some of the softest feet I’ve seen on a post player in Michigan. When Bartels makes a post move, it’s like her feet float through it.
[player_tooltip player_id="189309" first="Kynnedy" last="Brown"]
Brown was impressive at Flight Hankamp. She took long strides and got up and down the floor quickly. Brown has sneaky quick feet that helps her put defenders on her hip.
[player_tooltip player_id="244297" first="Jaidyn" last="Elam"]
For Elam, it just looks like the game, and the movements within the game, comes naturally to her. She looks silky smooth, making the toughest plays look almost effortless.
[player_tooltip player_id="194463" first="Rylie" last="Haist"]
There wasn’t much that Haist couldn’t do physically on the basketball court. Her well rounded athleticism made her look like she could effectively play multiple positions.
[player_tooltip player_id="147741" first="Gracey" last="Metz"]
I didn't realize until up close at Flight Hankamp, exactly how athletic Metz really is. Her ability to be stronger, faster, and more under control in her movements helped her get space for her jumper.
[player_tooltip player_id="244277" first="Jordan" last="Peterson"]
Peterson has been underrated as an athlete and continues to improve in that facet of her game. She showed some real shiftiness and burst on Monday night.
[player_tooltip player_id="244230" first="Brook" last="Simpson"]
Simpson just makes it look easy sometimes. She beats players to spots and makes it look easy when she does it. Simpson has complete control over her movement.
[player_tooltip player_id="244227" first="Kate" last="Stemmer"]
Stemmer should be considered an elite talent in the state of Michigan and her overall athleticism definitely contributes to that. She can get up and down the floor quickly and terrific body control both on the ground and in the air.
[player_tooltip player_id="147742" first="Alaila" last="Walker"]
Walker is an explosive athlete and player. She shoots out of a cannon off a rebound and gets the ball out into transition. Walker can use her athleticism to create high percentage looks at the bucket.
