LAE Exposure Scrimmage: Top Defenders

Lady Attack Elite hosted an exposure scrimmage yesterday. Here were some of the top defenders showing off their abilities to play both ends of the court. [player_tooltip player_id="172874" first="Jacquelyn" last="DeJesse"] | Chestnut Park | PG | 2022 Dejesse is a tough defender, especially on ball making it difficult for her opponents to breathe much less dribble the ball. She was constantly causing problems for her opponents trying to get by her. She made sure she got to show off her shot on the offensive side of the court, and she finishes through contact driving hard to the basket. Mckenzie Taylor | Concord Academy | CG | 2023 Taylor has an amazing way of getting her hand on the ball when playing defense. She can block shots or grab the ball right out of her opponent’s hands. She is feisty with the ball on offense moving quickly up and down the court weaving in and out of her opponents. She has a nice floater that she shows off in the paint, too. [player_tooltip player_id="285944" first="Aleysha" last="Hill"] | Asheville | CG | 2023 Hill showed off her ability to guard the ball keeping her opponent in front of her and knocking the ball away. It didn’t seem like a good idea to try to dribble by her one on one with her aggressive defense. She pushes the ball up the court with speed, and she keeps her eyes peeled to find an open teammate ready to shoot or cutting to the basket. [player_tooltip player_id="299441" first="Molly" last="Burns"] | Ardrey Kell | CG | 2024 Burns (pictured above) showed off her defense grabbing steals in a one man press and taking it the other direction. She does a great job deflecting the ball away from guards trying to get by her. She handles the ball well bringing it up the court with speed. She moves without the ball finding the gaps with some backdoor cuts on her way to two points. She showed off her range from deep.
