Kim Davis Powell and John McGraw got together to host the 2021 Show-N-Prove Showcase in Daytona Beach. The two-day event featured some of the state’s top players across the 2022-2028 classes. We were in attendance for both days and will break down the performance of the events top players. Here we take a second look at the top prospects in the 2025 class that were at the event.
We wrote about Asya Lara Barnes Asya Lara Barnes 6'0" | SF DME Academy | 2025 State FL HERE, identifying her as one of the top overall prospects at the event and the top 2025 prospect. And we also covered several of the top 2025 prospects in a previous article here.
In addition to Barnes and the other 2025 prospects we have written about, the following players had impressive performances.
Jade Jones Jade Jones 5'11" | SF King's Academy | 2025 State FL
Jones was one of my favorite players of the showcase. The young guard / wing played with infectious energy that is hard not to enjoy watching her play. She covers all corners of the court – going to the glass hard on both the offensive and defensive ends, stepping in and taking charges, diving on the floor for loose balls and just overall constantly being around the basket. She is an aggressive player that seems to enjoy playing defense. She plays down hill, consistently attacking the rim, and finishes well around rim. Physical defender & rebounds well in traffic.
Sariah Johnson Sariah Johnson 5'9" | SF Dr.Phillips | 2025 State FL
Johnson is an aggressive, big, strong, versatile wing who attacked the rim consistently on the offensive end and has great size for her age! Her body is impressive and what catches your attention immediately but her game backs it up. The young player has physical attributes that stand out and basketball skill to back it up. Keep your eyes on her, she has a chance to be special!
Alessandra Bonilla Alessandra Bonilla 5'7" | SG Monsignor Edward Pace | 2025 State FL
Bonilla is a young, skilled guard who we have written about before. She has great height and length and has a skillset beyond her years. She has played varsity the last two years as a 7th and 8th grader putting up some impressive numbers for a young player who technically is still in middle school. Her offensive skill stands out in watching her play just a couple minutes. She can handle the ball, has good court vision, and has solid range.
Jolena Gardner Jolena Gardner 6'0" | SF Columbia | 2025 State FL
Gardner is a strong, young post who played well vs girls 1-3 years older in 5v5 play in the showcase. She reminds me of an NBA player that comes off the bench as a role player. She is not too flashy but she comes in plays physical. I liked how she can grab a defensive rebound and start the break. She plays tough, physical, hard and aggressive and sets the tone for her teammates.
Arianna Woodard Arianna Woodard 5'10" | PG Lake Highland Prep | 2025 State FL
Woodard is an athletic, aggressive, versatile guard with deep 3-point range. She was definitely both one of the top offensive players and the top athletes at the showcase. At 5’9, she is a tough matchup on the perimeter and an excellent rebounder. She uses her height, length, and athleticism well on both ends of the court. She has really strong ball skills, great court awareness, and a very mature game for her age. I would project her as a definite BCS Power 5 kid if she continues her development path.
I am not sure if Chardae Rumph Chardae Rumph 5'7" | CG Blanche Ely | 2025 State FL and Soleil DeJesus Soleil DeJesus 5'8" | PF Excel Christian Academy | 2025 State FL were at the showcase and I just missed them or they did not attend but both are 2025 prospects that we have on our 2025 watch list as players to see in the 2025 class.
We will look to continue to cover all across the state of Florida. Our audience supplies us with some of our best information. Keep us updated on Florida news be emailing me at WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com or DM’ing me through Twitter or Instagram @WholeyPrepHoops.
