D1 Teams to Watch from Central Ohio!

<strong>Pickerington Central:   </strong>The outstanding point guard /Junior<strong>,</strong> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="164654" first="Madison" last="Greene"] </strong>(<em>Featured Photo, shooter)</em> and 6’1 forward / Junior, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="313105" first="Olivia" last="Cooper"]</strong>, as well as sophomore sensation <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="217321" first="Berry" last="Wallace"]</strong>, (<em>Below) </em> have their eyes set on a big season. This team has size, strength, and speed, and are very accustomed to playing the big games. Look for <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="217319" first="Jaden" last="Tucker"]</strong> to play valuable minutes, handling the basketball and setting up the offense. <img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-294184" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/06/Berry-Wallace4.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /> <strong>Reynoldsburg: </strong>Without question, one of the top teams in the state, Reynoldsburg has a boat load of talent, in senior players  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="212890" first="Makiya" last="Miller"], [player_tooltip player_id="211792" first="Mya" last="Perry"], [player_tooltip player_id="32618" first="Imarianah" last="Russell"],</strong> (<em>Below on Defense) </em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="211794" first="Trinity" last="Ramos"],</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="214494" first="Taryn" last="Cornett"]. </strong>Defensively, this team loves to apply pressure. There are some outstanding outside shooters on Marysville’s team.  When they get hot behind the 3 point arc- watch out! <strong>Ava Krutowskis, Ava Wilkerson, Cam Lee, Leah Brown, Alyssa Strahm, [player_tooltip player_id="280118" first="JoJo" last="Eberhart"],</strong> (<em>Below with ball) </em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="217329" first="Addy" last="Tweed"], </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="280610" first="Grace" last="Groves"] </strong>are all names to keep on your watch list! <img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-277814" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/04/IMG_9344.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /> <strong>Dublin Coffman:  </strong>What a season the Lady Rocks had last year!  With nearly all players returning, their objective remains the same: keeping their focus on one game at a time, with the goal of playing at the University of Dayton Arena in March. They play as a team, zero selfishness. Look for strong performances from <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="214495" first="Jenna" last="Kopyar"], </strong> <em>(Below, shooting) </em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="269728" first="Tessa" last="Grady"]</strong>,<strong> </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="312649" first="Cassidy" last="Lafler"].</strong> On any given night, any player can lead in stats. <strong> Tara Flynn, Taylor Covington, Julia Flynn, Ellie Vaccari, Maya Miles, Veronica Baldridge, </strong>and <strong>Ava Collins </strong>are all key players to this squad. <img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-325305" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/09/IMG_4799-258x300.jpeg" alt="" width="258" height="300" /> <strong>Gahanna Lincoln:  </strong>Gahanna has some outstanding players who will no doubt have success on the court again this season! <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="211796" first="Bella" last="Ward"], [player_tooltip player_id="270524" first="Laila" last="Marshall"], [player_tooltip player_id="217351" first="Aaliyah" last="Younger"], [player_tooltip player_id="216101" first="Clarke" last="Jackson"], [player_tooltip player_id="217320" first="Kya" last="Jordan"], Keeley Wright, Emily Marzetz, and Julianna Grubich a</strong>re all names you will hear throughout the season! Ward and Marshall both had strong seasons, and will look to help lead this team to W’s! <strong>Westerville North:  </strong>Westerville North has a great roster of kids, with a great combination of light feet, shooters, and inside game. You will hear these names throughout the season: <strong>Emoni Finch -</strong> <em>(below, shooting) this</em> young lady plays with fire all game, and is a true leader.  <strong>Charia Smith- </strong>look for her to dominate the inside as she did last season. Watch out for <strong>Lauren Hilderbrand, </strong>and<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="319039" first="Malaya" last="Collins"] </strong>as well! <img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-245460" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/IMG_4323-227x300.jpeg" alt="" width="227" height="300" /> &nbsp; <strong>Westerville South:  </strong>Speed and defense are huge keys for Jermaine Guice’s squad! This team competes, and just plays hard, all game. <strong>Nelia Guice, [player_tooltip player_id="217331" first="Zoe" last="Guice"], Lelia Jones,[player_tooltip player_id="214499" first="Tamara" last="Ortiz"],</strong> (<em>Below shooting) </em><strong>Nevaeh Brownlee</strong>- all will be key players for the wildcats!  The staff knows how to motivate, and the players buy into their philosophy of solid defense, crashing the boards, and fundamental basketball.  <img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-277878" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/04/IMG_9596.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /> &nbsp; <strong>Newark: </strong>The state- runner up team looked impressive over the summer. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="164290" first="Maddie" last="Vejsicky"], </strong>(<em>Below, shooting) </em>a future Virginia Tech player, is one of the purest shooters I’ve seen. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="212899" first="Gwen" last="Stare"] </strong>can take over a game with her court awareness.
