This freshman group is as good a class as we’ve seen in recent memory and they were on full display at the Prep Top 250 Expo. There has been and will probably be many more healthy debates of who the top 2-3 are, and there’s probably no wrong answers. These dynamic players will all end up where they should at the next level when the dust settles. The kids seem to get more skilled year after year as there were some elite 7th and 8th graders that participated that had my jaw dropping continuously. [player_tooltip player_id="339100" first="Maddyn" last="Greenway"], [player_tooltip player_id="339185" first="Lanelle" last="Wright"], and Ava Cupito are just a few of many talented underclassmen that held their own at the Expo. They will have to wait their turn as we have a few freshman carving out names for themselves, and as great as they are on the humanity side of things, they aren’t quite ready to share the wealth. There were certainly more than 15 freshman who made an impact in the showcase, but these are the ones that had a little extra pep in their giddy-up! Here is your 2025 All Expo Team: FIRST TEAM [player_tooltip player_id="212489" first="Sophie" last="Hawkinson"]- 5'7 Guard, Wayzata Confidence just oozes from Hawkinson when she steps on the court. During her first game in the Expo, on her first possession she caught the ball on the wing behind the arc and without hesitation calmly knocked down the first of back-to-back 3’s in the game's first few possessions. She’s a great ballhandler and gets after it on the defensive end never allowing her match-up to get comfortable. [player_tooltip player_id="296523" first="Kendall" last="McGee"]- 5'10 Guard, Benilde St. Margaret When McGee is dialed in, there may not be a better pure point guard in the class. She has size, vision and is unselfish by nature making her the prototype for a point guard. She has amazing vision and seems to see things two or three plays before they happen. She’s a physical guard who seeks out contact sort of like a boxer wearing her opponent down looking for the knockout in the later rounds. [player_tooltip player_id="205298" first="Jordan" last="Ode"]- 5'11 Guard, Maple Grove Jordan is the do-it-all player that ties everything together for whatever team she’s participating on. You need her to bring the ball up, check. Set a screen to get a teammate a look, check. Need a big rebound and someone to lead the break, check. Oh yeah, she’s a knockdown shooter to boot. Ode is just as tenacious and detailed on the defensive end as she is on the offensive end. [player_tooltip player_id="252387" first="Aaliyah" last="Crump"]- 6'1 Guard, Minnetonka Effortless! That’s how I would describe Crump’s game if I had only one word to do so. It’s unfair for someone standing 6’1 at her age to handle the ball and maneuver in traffic as easily as she does. When she has a mismatch in the post, she calmly gets on the block, demands the ball and knows just what to do with it. She’s a one woman fast break as she snatches rebounds and in 3-4 strides she’s at the basket finishing and getting back on defense, no celebrating here, it’s just another day at the office. [player_tooltip player_id="296513" first="Bree" last="Bowman"]- 6'0 Wing, Prior Lake I really enjoy watching players that look like they’re enjoying playing the game of basketball and that’s exactly what I see when I watch Bree play. She’s super intense but always picking teammates up and making the right basketball play. The wave of 6-foot plus girls in Minnesota playing on the wing is nothing new, but there’s so many more of them now and Bowman is quickly climbing her way to the top of the hill. SECOND TEAM [player_tooltip player_id="208184" first="Zahara" last="Bishop"]- 5'9 Guard, Benilde St. Margaret Zahara continues to impress as I’ve seen serious growth in her game everywhere from her ball handling to her shot selection. She’s playing lockdown defense and hitting the boards on both ends creating opportunities for herself and teammates alike. [player_tooltip player_id="262910" first="Tori" last="Schlagel"]-5'9 Guard, Eden Prarie One thing Tori will never do is short you on effort. She plays gritty and with the right amount of attitude. Her outside shot has improved and while there’s better ball handlers in the class, you won’t take it from her. On the defensive end she plays physical and much bigger than her stature. [player_tooltip player_id="339159" first="Addi" last="Mack"]-5'8 Guard, Minnehaha Academy Addi seems to rise to the occasion whenever the lights are on. What she lacks in size she more than makes up for with her basketball IQ and shear will. She’s a knockdown shooter who has problem sharing the spotlight but when make no mistake, when the game is on the line, no one wants the ball in their hands more than she does. [player_tooltip player_id="296514" first="Alaya" last="Carter"]- 5'7 Guard, Prior Lake Carter just walks like a ball player. You should never judge a book by it’s cover, but one look at Alaya and baller comes to mind. She handles the ball like it’s on a string and makes it look extremely easy. She has quick hands on the defensive end picking the pockets of some of the best ball handlers regardless of class. [player_tooltip player_id="215457" first="London" last="Harris"]-5'9 Guard, Hopkins Harris is another glue player that does a little bit of everything well. She plays with good pace and plays within her skill set. She won’t "wow" you with combo dribble moves, just strong straight line drives to the bucket. She’s a great rebounder for her size and seems to take every defensive assignment personal. HONORABLE MENTION

[player_tooltip player_id="208187" first="Annika" last="Southworth"]- 5'6 Guard, St. Peter

[player_tooltip player_id="339149" first="Vanessa" last="Jordan"]- 5'7 Guard, Eden Prarie

[player_tooltip player_id="296527" first="Aneisha" last="Scott"]- 5'3 Guard, Delasalle

[player_tooltip player_id="296516" first="Regan" last="Juenemann"]- 5'7 Guard, Duluth Marshell

[player_tooltip player_id="337632" first="Rory" last="Goddard"]-5'9 Guard, Wayzata
