It's been a highly productive winter for members of the Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2029. Whether players took on a big role as the members of our All-Freshmen Team did, or worked their way up the varsity ladder in their particular program, a lot of prospects made good progress since we first published the Freshmen 50 last fall. Now 25 of them have been added to the 2029 rankings for the first time. Grant McGinnis and I are profiling the newcomers in five installments. Here is part 2.

Bachmann, who has long been a fixture on [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] rosters, found rotation minutes on the Chaska varsity squad this season, averaging just over 4 points per game. Over the winter the 5'8 guard served as a utility player for the Hawks, using her fundamental style, athleticism, and strong understanding of the game to make an impact for the team. Brooke's game certainly isn't flashy, but she is a skilled passer, proficient three-point shooter, and a reliable defender who always finds a way to get the job done. She'll play for the Fury's S40 squad this spring.

The Waconia freshman has gotten our attention multiple times in recent months, impressing us with her poise in the point guard position. At 5'5, Fredrickson isn't the biggest player on the court. But what she lacks in height, she makes up for in her quickness, consistent work ethic, and well-developed understanding of the game. Each time she steps on the court Claire brings a high degree of intensity and toughness to both ends of the floor, and the left-handed shooter has a real knack for knocking down shots from long distance. She'll play for [program_tooltip program_id='714566' first='Minnesota' last='Stars'] 2029 GOLD this spring.

We recently highlighted Chatman's breakout performance at the Class 3A State Tournament earlier this month, but the dynamic, scrappy guard has been on our radar for several years. Tayja saw plenty of floor time with Totino-Grace in her freshman campaign, serving as a disruptive perimeter defender, and backup ball handler for the Eagles. Standing at 5'7, Chatman utilizes her physicality, strength, and quickness to get downhill to the basket where she excels at finishing through contact. A skilled passer with plenty of poise and keen court vision, Tayja will lead the way for [program_tooltip program_id='715704' first='Team' last='FSA']'s 2029 squad this spring.

A well known high-octane scorer, we saw Ellis put up big numbers with [program_tooltip program_id='712665' first='Metro' last='Stars'] on plenty of occasions last summer. Quick and crafty with the ball, the 5'7 guard can create her own shot from virtually anywhere on the floor. Maliyah has a soft, effortless release on her shot, and can finish at the rim in a variety of ways. This winter with Eden Prairie, the Eagles freshman showed off the other aspects of her game. Ellis stepped up to the plate, filling whatever role she was asked to play, demonstrating her abilities as a skilled passer, and consistent, capable defender.

Stier has been on our radar for a handful of seasons now. The Waconia freshman has a long frame, is light on her feet, and possesses plenty of quickness. This winter with the Wildcats, Ireland was a rotational piece who provided consistently active, high-pressure defense on the perimeter. On the other end of the floor the 5'8 wing got downhill to the rim often, finding ways to finish through contact at the rim. She averaged just over 5 points per game in her freshman campaign. Stier will suit up for the [program_tooltip program_id='712699' first='Minnesota' last='Rise'] this summer on the AAU circuit.
