About 85 players from the Class of 2022 to the Class of 2026 participated in the PGH Top 250 Expo in Kansas City. This is part 2 of the Kansas players that stood out to me from the Class of 2024.
[player_tooltip player_id="300799" first="Chloe" last="Curl"], 5’10, Ulysses – As a taller guard, Curl showed the ability to get to the basket when matched up with bigger players. Did a good job of finishing around the basket through contact especially in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id="335962" first="Jalyiah" last="Manuel"], 6’0, Wichita East – Manuel is a very long, raw athlete. Defensively, she a huge deterrent around the basket. Her ability to change shots was really impressive. Offensively, Manuel does a good job in the ball-screen game, setting solid screens then finishing at the basket. She also rebounds at a pretty high level.
[player_tooltip player_id="198606" first="Destiny" last="Smith"], 5’7, Derby – Smith is a good athlete who handles the ball extremely well. With the ball in her hands, she was always looking to set teammates up for open shots. When Smith wasn’t feeding her teammates, she was shot-ready when she had her opportunities to score.
<img class="wp-image-335566 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/10/8-Luci-Smith-300x290.jpg" alt="" width="161" height="156" />
[player_tooltip player_id="335921" first="Luci" last="Smith"], 5’4, Bonner Springs – Proved to be a solid shooter. Did a good job of playing hard and competing on both ends. Smith will be a solid contributor for a team that went to state in 2021.
[player_tooltip player_id="192792" first="Sara" last="Springer"], 5’5, Wamego– Extremely high basketball IQ. Offensively, Springer can really shoot the ball. Off the bounce, she can get to the rim and makes good decisions. Springer also showed the ability to get open off of screens. She’ll contribute to an already loaded Wamego roster.
<img class="wp-image-337115 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/10/62-Dekeira-Clay.jpg" alt="" width="131" height="175" />
[player_tooltip player_id="198382" first="De’Keira" last="Clay"], 5’9, Wichita South – Clay caught my eye when she had an isolation at the top of the key and got to the basket. Then she did it again and again. She attacked downhill with a variety of moves and finished through the defense. On the other end of the floor, Clay’s length allowed her to get out in the passing lanes to create easy baskets.
[player_tooltip player_id="231278" first="Jasani" last="Jackson"], 5’9, Wichita Heights – Really athletic guard with a high motor. Jackson was all over the floor on both ends.
<img class="wp-image-335600 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/10/56-Naomi-White-226x300.jpg" alt="" width="125" height="166" />
[player_tooltip player_id="192833" first="Naomi" last="White"], 5’8, Derby – White is a strong guard with high level handles. Her ability to shoot from long range also stood out. When players took away her jump shot, she was able to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket.
