Continue ReadingEvery year the depth in Minnesota girls basketball continues to grow, and the Class of 2025 is no exception. That’s one reason why it was so difficult to choose the Prep Girls Hoops Freshmen 50. Yesterday we brought you the Top 10. Now we offer spots 11 through 25 where ample evidence of that depth is everywhere. In reality, there simply isn’t a whole lot that separates these 15 players from each other. Really it just depends on what you are looking for. From the size of Abby Hoselton Abby Hoselton 5'11" | PF STMA | 2025 State MN and Ella Keenan Ella Keenan 6'0" | PF Chaska | 2025 State MN to the quickness of Alaya Carter Alaya Carter 5'8" | CG Prior Lake | 2025 State MN and Regan Juenemann Regan Juenemann 5'9" | CG Duluth Marshall | 2025 State MN to the length of Liana Buckhalton Liana Buckhalton 6'0" | CG Stillwater | 2025 State MN and Stella Timmins Stella Timmins 5'11" | SG St. Anthony Village | 2025 State MN , there’s a lot to like everywhere you look. And all of them have to be considered solid Division 1 prospects. In this, the first sorting of the 2025s, this is how it looks from 11th to 25th.
– Abby Hoselton Abby Hoselton 5'11" | PF STMA | 2025 State MN – The St. Michael-Albertville forward played AAU for the first time this summer, making her mark with North Tartan and expanding her game significantly along the way. Abby has a big body and a big motor and that’s a potent combination.
– Keagan McVicker Keagan McVicker 5'9" | CG Hastings | 2025 State MN – The Hastings guard is one of the most well-rounded players in the Class of 2025. At about 5’10 she has a good-sized frame, a healthy dose of athleticism, a well-developed skill set and the type of on-court maturity most players find much later than 9th grade.
– Alaya Carter Alaya Carter 5'8" | CG Prior Lake | 2025 State MN – The guard from Prior Lake is one of the most gifted athletes in the class with quick feet, fast hands and plenty of elevation. She is also one of the best ball-handlers and can shoot it lights out from beyond the arc.
– Regan Juenemann Regan Juenemann 5'9" | CG Duluth Marshall | 2025 State MN – Regan is strong and quick and has already proven herself playing with and against much older players. The two-year varsity veteran moves from Duluth East to Duluth Marshall where she’ll be one of the best 2A players in the state.
– Gracie Winge Gracie Winge 5'10" | CG Lakeville North | 2025 State MN – The big guard from Lakeville North started the summer in relative anonymity and finished the year as an elite prospect. She’s strong and physical, loves to defend and scores in large quantities. Gracie’s ceiling is high.
– Mylea Monahan Mylea Monahan 5'7" | CG Glencoe-Silver Lake | 2025 State MN – Like her very accomplished sisters, the coach’s kid from Glencoe-Silver Lake is a highly skilled floor general who understands the game, knows how to effectively run an offense, and doesn’t get flustered in the key moments.
– Ella Keenan Ella Keenan 6'0" | PF Chaska | 2025 State MN – The 6-foot power forward from Chaska is a stretch 4 who can bang down low with the best of them or step outside and knock down shots. Ella is a strong rebounder, a great shot blocker and a solid team defender.
– Liana Buckhalton Liana Buckhalton 6'0" | CG Stillwater | 2025 State MN – The 5’10 guard is now at Stillwater where she’ll play with and against top performers. Her length and quickness is an excellent defensive asset she uses well to jump passing lanes, block shots, and rebound effectively. Buckhalton can also score the basketball.
– Rae Ehrman Rae Ehrman 5'9" | SF Eden Prairie | 2025 State MN – The Eden Prairie freshmen is relentless at both ends of the floor. She never gives up on a rebound, out-hustles pretty much everyone on the court, and nearly always makes the smart play. She’s also got plenty of skill.
– Elise Dieterle – The 6’1 forward from Stillwater has size and length, two commodities that are always in demand. She can also score – off the dribble, from the mid-range and beyond the arc. Elise is a streaky shooter, and when she gets going from long distance look out!
– Brooklynn Holmberg – The 5’11 guard/wing from Prior Lake does so many things well. She has size, skill and a high basketball IQ, three attributes that will take you far in this game, especially when combined with Brooklynn’s work ethic and team-first mentality.
– Tatum Woodson Tatum Woodson 5'9" | CG Hopkins | 2025 State MN – The 5’9 guard from Hopkins missed most of the summer while recovering from a wrist injury but has shown enough this fall to earn a place in the rankings. She’s got speed, quickness and handles and you can expect her star to rise in the near future. (*Apologies for an earlier version of this article that misstated the nature of Tatum’s injury.)
– Stella Timmins Stella Timmins 5'11" | SG St. Anthony Village | 2025 State MN – The St. Anthony Village guard/wing emerged this summer as a force to be reckoned with. Now pushing 6 feet, she is a pure sniper who can knock down shots with the best of them. Stella exudes confidence and is always on the attack.
– Madelynn Luft Madelynn Luft 6'1" | PF Kerkhoven-M-S | 2025 State MN – The 6’1 forward, formerly of Yellow Medicine East and now of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, is a hidden gem. It’s going to take time for the long and lanky freshman to grow into her body and realize her full potential but she is already an elite shot blocker and rebounder.
– Aneisha Scott Aneisha Scott 5'6" | PG DeLaSalle | 2025 State MN – The 5’4 point guard from DeLaSalle is one of the craftiest floor generals around, a high-speed water bug who gets around the court as quickly as anyone in the class. She has superior handles, a great stroke and the ability to get to the rim through contact. Scott is utterly fearless!
