We looked for consistency and how their impact on the team changed the trajectory of the team win or loss. A ton of players could’ve made this list but here are the lucky 5:
Lexie has a long wingspan that she uses to her advantage when finishing over defenders with her floater or layups at the rim. She brings back that slashing era of basketball with her ability to move without the ball and how well she cuts through the lane getting herself open for easy looks.
Kern was a guard that really impressed us all weekend with her strong frame and how mature she played. She played at a really good pace and on a balance. Kern showed off her range beyond the 3-point line on multiple possessions triggering a run for her team.
Highlights
Coughlin is determined to get to the paint and when she does you can almost bet that she will be going to that step-through finish. She sells every other move hard to make you believe that she will be doing something different but then she comes right back to that finish. She has proved that as an undersized guard she can finish amongst the trees and size doesn’t matter.
Highlights
Sievers is a pure bucket-getter. She scores in a ton of different ways and isn’t afraid to pull all the tricks out of the bag. She will score off the back door, in transition, isolation in the half-court set, she’s really good at scoring and does it within the flow of the offense so her team doesn’t get stagnant watching her go to work.
Sydney’s impact on her team played a major role in winning or losing for this talented Air Minnesota team. Her energy impacts her team directly and she wears her emotions on her sleeve. Her lighting quickness to get downhill and finish or when her team makes the extra pass to her for her to knock it down she’s tough to stop when she’s rolling.
