Class of 2025- Top 15 update! (#1-#5). Read FREE
In this article:
Back in the fall when we first released our 2025 Watch List, there was a glaring name missing. Dee Alexander from Cincinnati Purcell Marian was missed and I will take ownership for it. I had not seen her at any of the summer events, OGBR events or any of my events. In this industry, kids are missed all the time, so I wanted to make sure it was corrected.
Normally for a listing of freshman, we just run a Watch List in the fall and winter, then in the spring, the top players are ranked after they compete their first high school season. This year, I decided to change up a bit and our team gathered a lot of great names to add to the watch list, along with naming a Top 15 2025 group. I made this decision to show that the player we missed is not your ordinary watch list kid, Alexander is at the top.
Thus, we have put together the Mid-Season Top 15 freshman who stand tall in the class of 2025. Also this week, we will look at many of the ’25 class who are on the Watch List.
If you are in the Class of 2025… this is your week!
A look at the first five players in the Class of ’25 Top 15…….
1. Darriana Alexander Darriana Alexander 6'1" | CG Cincinnati Purcell Marian | 2025 State OH , 6-1 2025, Cincinnati Purcell Marian
What can be said that hasn’t been said about this incredible player already? She is so talented and her coach calls her a “generational player” and she truly is. She doesn’t have any flaws, can score from anywhere, she will post up her defender, can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim or will score from the perimeter. Can defend any position on the floor. No limit for Alexander.
2. Mari Gerton Mari Gerton 5'7" | PG Princeton | 2025 State OH , 5-7 2025, Summit Country Day
Extremely explosive point guard who has multiple ways to beat you. She can explode to the rim with such athleticism it is tough to defend her. Great court vision and handles to create offense for her team. Excellent off the dribble, can score from midrange, good floater and finishes well with either hand. No limit to her ceiling. 3. Maya Nahar Maya Nahar 6'3" | C Western Reserve | 2025 State OH , 6-3 2025, Western Reserve
Able to play either the wing or the forward spot, can utilize her size to create mismatch problems for her opponents. Very good rebounder, uses her body well in the paint. Good hands, long and athletic can alter or block shots well for her defense. Very good handles for her size, nice floater around the rim. Her stock continues to rise.
4. Madison Parrish Madison Parrish 6'0" | SF Mason | 2025 State OH , 6-0 2025, Mason
She has really established herself as a major factor at Mason in just the first few games of her career. Excellent defender, distributes the ball very well and can control the boards. Her athletic frame allows her to score in a variety of ways. High motor, high ceiling and look for a big summer from her this coming seas
5. Emma Clary Emma Clary 5'10" | SF South Gallia | 2025 State OH , 5-10 2025, South Gallia
I got a chance to see her play for the first time in August and she was the best freshman I saw at the SCOH Showcase. She then attended a few more events and everytime I saw her, I liked her game more. Emma (pictured right) is a strong, physical player who can score from inside or out, run the floor in transition and finish with either hand. Very smart basketball IQ, continues to improve.
