CNHY Showcase – Keenan vs Cardinal Newman

Prep Girls Hoops made the trip up to the Midlands for this weekend to take in the CHNY Showcase presented by Hoop-ology. Friday night had a highly contested girl’s game featuring the top players in the 2022 and 2023 Palmetto State Classes. Cardinal Newman went into halftime with a 35-34 lead. The Lady Raiders and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="124104" first="Milaysia" last="Fulwiley"]</strong> took over in the 2nd half and prevailed with 74-63 win on the road. Fulwiley finished the night with 41 points for the Lady Raiders. <em><strong>Game of Numbers</strong></em> - Cardinal Newman has just 8 girls on this year’s roster for Head Coach Asia Dozier. The Lady Cardinals have just one senior on the roster while Keenan HS has <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="185722" first="Ashari" last="Lewis"]</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="216961" first="Jailyn" last="Oree"]</strong> and <strong>Amiya Etheridge</strong>. Lewis came out on fire with 20 points for the Lady Raiders while Oree collected several bruises and rebounds tonight finished with 6 points in the win. Ashari was able to connect on some mid-range jumpers along popping off a few three pointers along the way. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="124089" first="Ashlyn" last="Watkins"]</strong> recently signed with the University of South Carolina against <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="124104" first="Milaysia" last="Fulwiley"]</strong> #1 in the 2023 Palmetto State Class. Fulwiley provided an arsenal all night long with her ability to score from downtown or at the rim. Milaysia even dished out 6 assists according to my unofficial stats this evening. Monsanto was constantly in position to make plays all night long with her activity around the ball. SaBreya just a freshman like Jacobs has Cardinals Head Coach Asia Dozier smiling for the future for sure.
