Continue ReadingAfter the first month of high school basketball, these Freshmen have shown their abilities on the basketball court. Some of them have made contributions that are apparent by reading the points, steals, and rebound totals in the scorebooks and stat sheets. Other Freshmen have made contributions on the defensive side of the court or on the press break, etc. Below is a list of some of the Freshmen on the First Coast and in North Florida who have been impactful in the first month of the basketball season.
Abby Knauff 2025, 5’9″ G (Bolles) . Before the season started Knauff’s success and impact on Bolles Varsity girls basketball was predicted and the Freshman has not disappointed. Through eight games, Knauff is the leading scorer for the Bulldogs, averaging nearly 16 points per game. She has scored at least 20 points or more in three games. Knauff has connected on 15 three-pointers through this point of the season. The Freshman sensation doesn’t just shoot the ball- she is athletic and also contributes on the defensive end. Knauff averages 3 steals per game and over 5.3 rebounds per game as well.
Nina Kamma-Hill 2025, 5’3″ G (Sandalwood) has been really good and does not play like a Freshman. Her confidence is beyond her years. In a district matchup against Mandarin, the Freshman played well and kept her team in contention with several clutch shots down the stretch, including a 4 point play. Kamma-Hill does a great job handling the ball and has shown that she can drive to the goal from both sides of the court. She knows how to put the ball in the basket and can do so from all levels on the court. Kamma-Hill plays with a lot of confidence and aggressiveness and her quickness and speed are her strongest assets. Kamma -Hill is also a solid defensive player.
Kendall Kane Kendall Kane 6'0" | SF Beachside | 2025 State FL 2025, 6’0 G (Bartram). Kane has shown that she is one of the best three-point shooters in the 2025 class. Through 11 games the Freshman has connected on 18 three-pointers and is averaging over 9 points per game. As the season has progressed she has taken on ball handling and pressing breaking roles as well.
Victoria Noble 2025, 5’4″ G (Fleming Island). Noble’s Freshman season has started out like everyone expected. The Freshman is making her mark, especially on the offensive end of the court. Noble entered her Freshman season as a player who can shoot the three. One month in, Noble has knocked down 10 threes and is averaging nearly 11 points per game. Defensively, Noble is averaging 2.5 steals per game.
Paris Washington 2025, 5’6 G ( Ribault) In the game that I observed, Washington was quick off of the dribble, shot the long ball well, and scored 14 points. She showed the ability to drive left and right, knocked down several three-pointers. Washington was also solid on defense showing that she could stay in front of her opponent and with good footwork and lateral movement. Washington is only going to get better. She’s playing with a team full of Freshmen and Sophomores and sometimes the stats might not indicate the all-around game that Washington is playing on the court.
Joleana Gardner 2025, 6’0″ F (Columbia). The Freshman forward has played well in the first month of the season. Gardner has averaged 7.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, including a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds) against Gainesville Bucholz.
