Emerald Ridge High School is on an early roll in the 2021-2022 season and their matchup at Puyallup High School was more of the same as they earned a 64-40 victory over the Lady Vikings. This game had a half dozen plus college prospects for different levels.
2025 5’6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="365841" first="Lolo" last="Woodburn"] (Puyallup HS) competed throughout and did her best to handle ER’s constant ball pressure. She hit a jumper, got to the paint consistently and scored. Woodburn plays with a good motor and should help Puyallup for years to come.
2023 6’4 C [player_tooltip player_id="249844" first="Naomi" last="Hotchkiss"] (Puyallup HS) showed off her nice touch hitting a 15 foot short corner jumper. Hotchkiss cleaned up the boards on defense and made solid outlet passes. ER was a tough matchup for Puyallup’s guards to be able to get the ball into the half court setting and target Hotchkiss, but her size and impact was still present for Puyallup as she altered several shots on defense.
2024 6’1 C [player_tooltip player_id="362369" first="Maddy" last="Weaver"] (Puyallup HS) has a great motor and she plays with so much energy. She rebounded and competed hard in the minutes she had. A prospect that will continue to improve.
2022 5’10 SF [player_tooltip player_id="191424" first="Kali" last="Haizlip"] (Emerald Ridge HS) was a complete player for ER’s attack. She can score it inside and out, assist, block shots or pick up steals. Haizlip is easily one of the top unsigned seniors in Washington and a miss for multiple local Division 1 and Division 2 schools in the PNW region so far.
2023 5’7 PG [player_tooltip player_id="154469" first="Monique" last="Carter"] (Emerald Ridge HS) was a serious standout with her shot making ability and crafty finishes in transition. Carter’s skill set has seriously matured and more colleges should take notice. Carter also takes pride on the defensive end.
2023 5’9 SG [player_tooltip player_id="115394" first="Marecia" last="Barnett"] (Emerald Ridge HS) is a steady presence for ER with her ball security and basketball IQ. She had some outstanding connections with teammates finding open cutters. Barnett has great strength attacking the paint and drawing fouls.
2023 5’9 SG [player_tooltip player_id="115395" first="Maya" last="Barnett"] (Emerald Ridge HS) continues to make her stamp as a top performer in the SPSL. Her mixture of passing and scoring ability is very obvious and she can handle the ball comfortably against pressure and make quality decisions.
2023 5’10 SG [player_tooltip player_id="154470" first="Alina" last="Sapilak"] (Emerald Ridge HS) is a perfect piece to ER’s lineup as she provides a strong defensive presence. She takes pride defending on the ball, turning her man several times up the court. She is a good slasher on offense and can create for her own shot as well.
2024 6’1 SF [player_tooltip player_id="365840" first="Kailey" last="Verhoeven"] (Emerald Ridge HS) is a lefty wing-forward with a solid feel for the game. She looks to distribute a lot with this team, but she has some skill and can make plays when she chooses to do so. She knocked down a jumper and plays well in her role as sophomore.
