Prep Girls Hoops is out all over the Palmetto State providing coverage this holiday season. Today we stopped in Florence for the Pepsi Carolina. This is the first year that the tourney has added girls to the docket. The event featured just 4 teams Lake View HS, Hartsville HS, Dillon HS and West Florence HS.
West Florence HS defeated Dillon HS to start the day 41-16. The Lady Knights were just too much for the Class 3A Lady Wildcats. Senior [player_tooltip player_id="369801" first="Ahliah" last="Mack"] led the way with 12 points for the Lady Knights while [player_tooltip player_id="173112" first="Zybreayziah" last="Alexander"] and Telmya Mack both added 10 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="369801" first="Ahliah" last="Mack"] is a new name for us here at Prep Girls Hoops. Mack an off guard-wing connected on a few short jumpers on the baseline today along with filling the lane in transition.

Alexander a left-handed hybrid player really lacks a true position on the floor. Zybreayziah plays inside-out for the Lady Knights and does most of her scoring around the cup on put-backs. She today really looked to handle the rock up the floor at times and played like a point guard.

The Lady Wildcats lost [player_tooltip player_id="348144" first="Rhanyai" last="Frazier"] at the 6:16 mark of the 3rd quarter with a knee injury and she never returned to the game. Freshman guard [player_tooltip player_id="250481" first="Mariah" last="Campbell"] scored 14 points for Dillon HS. Campbell stands under 5’0 tall but plays the game with no fear at all. Mariah is the leader of this Lady Wildcats team and isn’t afraid to dive on the floor, come up with a big shot or even rebound at times.
Lake View HS defeated Hartsville HS Lady Red Foxes 53-39. The Lady Wild Gators jumped out to a 15-3 lead and never looked back in this contest. The Lady Wild Gators were led in scoring by [player_tooltip player_id="171808" first="Jaleya" last="Ford"] with 15 points. Ford was leaking out on the break and always swarming around the ball today for the Lady Wild Gators. Jaleya brought great energy to the floor and came up with big plays time after time today.

Hartsville HS was playing its 2nd game in matter of about 4 hours in 2 different tournaments. Earlier in the day the Lady Red Foxes improved to (2-0) at the District 9 Tourney over in Manning. Hartsville HS a last-minute replacement here in the Pepsi Carolina Classic just ran out of gas today. [player_tooltip player_id="171767" first="Kindan" last="Dawson"] scored 19 points while connecting on 5-three pointers. [player_tooltip player_id="355170" first="Tatiana" last="Fisher"] added 14 points in the paint while 8th grader [player_tooltip player_id="369800" first="Autumn" last="Kind"] chipped in with 6 points.
Fisher continues to get better down low in the paint with more playing time and confidence. Tatiana just a sophomore has helped the Lady Red Foxes win 6 of its last 7 games after winning the Lexington Christmas Classic during the that span.
