Sandy’s Spiel Showcase: Standouts 2022 5-4 PG [player_tooltip player_id="159357" first="Katelyn" last="Dunning"] – Mt. Paran West Georgia is getting a tough playmaker that can control the tempo. Dunning is a skilled ball handler that works well out of pick-and-rolls. She hunted her offense on Saturday attacking from the perimeter. When she’s hitting her pull-up jumper, it opens up the rest of the floor. Getting two feet in the paint and finding the open man will be her area of focus in college. 2025 6-1 F [player_tooltip player_id="283846" first="Jessica" last="Fields"] – Mt. Paran To no surprise, the freshman dictated the action in the paint with 6 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 blocks. Fields uses her length inside to alter shots and high point rebounds. She’s wiry but has functional strength, strong for her frame when pulling down rebounds and scoring around the basket. Multiple High Majors have already offered. 2022 5-11 F [player_tooltip player_id="186274" first="Kaylynn" last="Kirklen"] – Mt. Paran [player_tooltip player_id="186274" first="Kaylynn" last="Kirklen"] is flying under the radar. She could be a useful piece at the right spot among D-II, D-III or NAIA programs. The combo forward has a nice offensive game and is a reliable rebounder. She hit three jumpers on Saturday: a coast-to-coast pull-up, a mid-range off the catch and a turnaround jumper. 2025 5-8 W [player_tooltip player_id="288506" first="Mearah" last="Whitehead"] – Archer Tenacious effort. MeMe has already made her mark on the varsity season. Whitehead is heralded for her energy and defensive prowess. She’s a terrific hustler that does the dirty work. She can defend 1-5 as a defensive specialist. She hit a three and finished with 9 points and 4 steals. As she starts to develop her offensive game, Whitehead could take off. 2025 5-10 F [player_tooltip player_id="302912" first="Kyndall" last="Collins"] – Archer Collins was effective in the paint as a rebounder and defender. She has quality length to accepts her role. She doesn’t need offensive touches to stay engaged and do her job. 2022 6-2 C [player_tooltip player_id="204681" first="Sofia" last="Reyes"] – River Ridge Finally cleared to play, [player_tooltip player_id="204681" first="Sofia" last="Reyes"] was strong with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. She’s a big strong defensive-minded post presence. Sofia scores at the rim, gobbles up rebounds and uses her strength and length to protect the hoop. Small schools looking for size to bolster their interior defense will want to check in. Reyes is flying under the radar. 2025 5-6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="296847" first="Sophia" last="Pearl"] – River Ridge The freshman scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half to pair with 4 assists. Pearl is a smart passer that sees the floor in transition and also in the half court, looking diagonal and opposite for open shooters. Sophia has a quick trigger and has mastered the one-dribble pull-up at an early age. 2025 5-11 F [player_tooltip player_id="350683" first="Kayla" last="Cleaveland"] – River Ridge All 10 of Cleaveland’s points came in the second half while she also added 5 rebounds and 2 assists. She is a versatile piece, strong enough to rebound and consistently score down low but she is also skilled enough to play on the perimeter and stretch the defense. She drained a pair of threes and scored on a drive. She’s an interesting long-term prospect. 2022 6-2 C La’Rekia Terrell – Newton Terrell came off the bench but the big bruiser immediately made and impact with her size and physicality combatting the length of River Ridge. She muscled her way to 5 points and 7 rebounds. Terrell is strong up top. She moves opponents out of the way for rebounds and can finish through contact.
