[player_tooltip player_id="185221" first="Tacoya" last="Heyward"], [player_tooltip player_id="375057" first="Madison" last="Washington"], [player_tooltip player_id="261907" first="Katie" last="Rodney"] and Ja’lania Mosley all start for the Lady Bobcats and all happen to be just sophomores. Heyward led the Bobcats with 16 points tonight in the victory. Tacoya sees the floor very well and really does a good job of knocking down open shots. Heyward really stuffs the stat sheet night in and night out. Heyward came into the game averaging 14.4 ppg, 9 rebounds, 6 steals and 3.9 assists.

Washington is a physical post player who really looks to take up space down low in the paint. Madison had 11 points and 11 rebounds according to my unofficial stats during the game. Washington has a nice set of broad shoulders and a thicker frame.
Rodney has a scorer’s mentality and looks to score the ball every time she touched it today. Katie finished with 8 points in the win.
Byrd Goes Down

[player_tooltip player_id="243455" first="Virginia" last="Byrd"] came into the contest averaging 16 ppg for the Lucy Beckham HS Lady Bengals. Byrd went down in the 3rd quarter with 6:39 left and never returned to the game with a shoulder injury. Byrd finished with 6 points in limited action tonight. [player_tooltip player_id="378101" first="Logan" last="Collins"] and [player_tooltip player_id="378102" first="Molly" last="Seifert"] look to be the future of Lady Bengals basketball at Lucy Beckham HS. Collins came into the contest averaging 11.1 ppg but didn’t score the ball tonight. Collins is the primary ball-handler and play maker for the Lady Bengals. Logan has a good feel and uses the ball screen well to get by defenders with her ability to change directions.
Seifert just an 8th grader is averaging 7.2 ppg and 5.3 rebounds this season. Seifert popped off and knocked down a three pointer today.
Lucy Beckham HS just opened its doors last year during the Pandemic. 2nd year program for the Lady Bengals at the Class 4A level.
