Byrd started off her career at Lucy Beckham HS before coming over to the Summerville based Northwood Academy last fall.

Byrd was not in attendance anywhere this summer on the Grassroots Circuit or for the Lady Chargers. Byrd started off her career at Lucy Beckham HS before coming up to Summerville to attend Northwood Academy. Virginia a combo guard should pair up nicely this season with Alayah Birch and Morgan Jones Morgan Jones Morgan Jones 5'6" | SG Northwood Academy | 2024 State SC in the Lady Chargers backcourt.

Virginia can slash the ball to the basket or simply pull-up for a jumper. Simply enough Virginia and the Lady Chargers need to stay together to make a strong run in SCISA Class 4A this season.

Byrd will be a welcome addition to the Lady Chargers this coming season after making the move over from Lucy Beckham HS. Virginia can score the ball from all 3 levels and seems to be very effective at doing just that. She will touch the paint and penetrate-kick to an open teammate.

Byrd plays the game the with a great deal of confidence and swagger at times. She has a nice mid-range game when she isn’t popping off three pointers from downtown.

The letter A and the number four may define Byrd’s basketball career the last few seasons. She is transferring from a SCHSL 4A program in Lucy Beckham to Northwood Academy which was reclassified as a 4A school via SCISA. She has ran on the grassroots circuit with Charleston-based TMP 16U. Byrd will get herself in position to haul in rebounds and can particularly be counted on to come through with big plays in game-defining moments. She has scoring abilities from anywhere on the floor – including from behind the 3-point arc and in the midrange game. Delivering accurate passes is another element to her game.
