Sydney Worsham-2025-Glen Allen High School
Outstanding athlete with quick feet, active hands her and willingness to guard the best player on the court makes her a great defender. She opened up the week guarding a senior D1 commit, her defensive pressure frustrated the player into turnovers, difficult shot selection and blocked her twice on the 3pt line. One of the best defensive performances I have seen all year. Sydney is just a freshman on a talented Glen Allen team and has been a huge factor in Glen Allen’s success this season.
Hailey Holcombe-2024-Midlothian High School
Hailey is really starting to develop her game beyond a 3pt shooter this season. This week she played in three games, averaging over 15 pts a game. Started off the week with a buzzer beating 3 to win the game by 1. She has shot the ball well from the 3pt line, but also putting the ball on the floor and has a nice floater over taller defenders. She is very unselfish, good passer who looks to involve her teammates in the game. On an undersized team, rebounds well and has found success guarding positions 1-4.
Peyton Ray-2022-Colgan High School
Sweet stroke from the 3pt line, hit 5 3’s in most recent game. Her feet and hands are shot ready, nice mid-range pull up and can finish in the paint. Shooting guard with good size at 5’9, strong rebounder (had 13 in last game) who handles the ball well enough to run an offense. Efficient scorer who doesn’t require the ball in her hands a lot to impact the game.
Cierra McGinlay Cierra McGinlay 5'7" | CG Glen Allen | 2023 State VA -2023-Glen Allen High School
Strong, physical guard who is no longer a catch and shoot scorer. Improved ability to put the ball on the floor, pull up in the midrange and shoot the 3 has led to increased point production. She has found ways to score without relying on her jump shot. She gets out on the break for easy buckets, capable passer with good court vision who draws defenders and kicks to shooters and can pass into the post. Her defense has improved this year, reads passing lanes for steals and is an aggressive on ball defender.
Rhyan Harris-2023-Glenvar High School
Rhyan is having a huge junior season for Glenvar, filling the stat sheet. She has good handles, nice change of direction and reads defenses to know when to pass and score. Nice form on her shot, can score out to the 3pt line, gets into the paint and finishes through contact. She is athletic, moves well off the ball cutting through the lane hard and relocates to the open area for spot up 3s.
Colette Baine Colette Baine 5'7" | CG Woodgrove | 2023 VA -2023-Woodgrove High School
Colette is a skilled shooting guard with good court awareness, knowing where to be on the offensive end. Good 3pt shooter, who can get in the lane and utilizes nifty footwork to score around the basket. Gets good position for offensive rebounds, moves well off the ball cutting through the lane or spotting up for 3. She has put up some big numbers this season in key wins and I don’t expect that to stop any time soon. She is a key component to a talented Woodgrove team.
Hali Harris-2024-Hanover High School
After a shortened freshman season, Hali is starting to come into her own this year. 5’11 combo guard who is a match-up nightmare with her length and skill set. She has unlimited potential, good shooter who slithers her way through defenses to get to the rim. Defensively, her long reach and ability to move her feet allows her to guard any position on the court.
MacKenzie Swayne-2023-Monacan High School
MacKenzie’s game continues to improve each year. She is an inside/out threat, plays hard the entire game and makes all the hustle plays. She is a tenacious rebounder and her ball handling has improved. She attacks the paint hard finishing through contact and getting to foul line. She finished out the week with a strong performance 16pts, 11 boards, 5 steals in a win against the #2 ranked team in the Richmond Metro area.
