Game Forum: North Broward Prep @ Gulliver Prep

I traveled over to Coconut Creek to watch North Broward Prep take on Gulliver Prep. The Raiders would defeat the Eagles, 89-57. I thought Gulliver Prep let the Eagles hang around with too many breakouts/points in transition. North Broward Prep has a nice group of young players (see below).<span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">The Raiders improved to 13-6. North Broward Prep fell to 11-7</span> Check out these standouts [player_tooltip player_id="219941" first="Madison" last="Aguilera"] - Gulliver Prep 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="219941" first="Madison" last="Aguilera"] went off for 35 points and nine 3-pointers. It was pretty much showtime when she got the ball from deep. Aguilera hit perimeter shots from everywhere on the floor. <span style="font-size: 1rem;">The 5-foot-4 guard also did an excellent job scoring off dribble penetration. Aguilera is very quick when she attacks the basket. Do not let her size fool you in these situations. </span><span style="font-size: 1rem;">Aguilera also has great vision as a passer around the perimeter or finding an open teammate down low. She found 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="91580" first="Riana" last="Doctor"] on a couple of occasions. Overall, her guard skills are solid as she reads the floor well. Therefore, I thought Aguilera was the best overall player on the court.</span><span style="font-size: 1rem;"> She </span><span style="font-size: 1rem;">came into the night averaging 21.2 points and 4.4 points per game. Aguilera recently scored her 1000th career point.</span> [player_tooltip player_id="91580" first="Riana" last="Doctor"] - Gulliver Prep 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="91580" first="Riana" last="Doctor"] had at least fourteen rebounds in the victory. The 6-foot forward had too much size and length in the paint for North Broward Prep. Furthermore, she was able to score around the basket using her frame. In addition, <span style="font-size: 1rem;">I thought Doctor did a nice job scoring off the dribble from the top of the key. She went to her right often and used her athleticism to connect on layups. Overall, she moves well for her size, including in </span><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">transition</span><span style="font-size: 1rem;">. </span><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Doctor finished with 20 points. She came into the game averaging 16 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. The combination of Aguilera and Doctor could be tough to stop for opponents down the line.</span> Jordon Kosoy - North Broward Prep 2024 Jordon Kosoy finished with a team-high 18 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers. I thought she did a nice job using her size to attack the basket. Kosoy played aggressive and found openings down the lane. I also thought her shooting form looked good. Kosoy appears to have three-level skill based off this performance. She <span style="font-size: 1rem;">came into the game averaging 12.8 points, 6.6 assists, 5.1 steals and 3.8 rebounds per game.</span> Kaydie Sturm - North Broward Prep 2025 Kaydie Sturm finished with 13 points. I thought Sturm did a nice job scoring from all three levels while using her length. Sturm came into the contest averaging a team-best 17.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. North Broward Prep has a pair of good young players in Sturm and Kosoy. <span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Gulliver Prep analysis </span> <span style="font-size: 1rem;">Gulliver Prep’s issues certainly weren’t on offense. As I said above, communication and awareness on defense is where they could clean things up.</span> North Broward Prep analysis - Talented young group - Keep working on the defensive/perimeter end.
