Holiday Tournaments Roundup: Top Scorers
2022 5-10 SG [player_tooltip player_id="195814" first="Letiya" last="Reeves"] – East Coweta
Closing in as one of the top scorers in school history, [player_tooltip player_id="195814" first="Letiya" last="Reeves"] is a good off-guard that should be drawing serious D-II attention with possible Low Major D-I looks. Reeves is a big guard that can get to her spots. She is a capable driver and can pull-up from the mid-range. Letiya can post up smaller defenders and scores through contact inside. She doesn’t shy away from the big shot. Reeves drilled a three at the buzzer to send their game to OT vs. Harrison. She finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block.
2023 6-0 W [player_tooltip player_id="188324" first="Jordynn" last="Dudley"] – Cambridge
Committed to play soccer at Florida State, the roadrunner-fast wing is a blur in transition. All arms and legs, the wiry speed demon is all over the floor atop the press forcing turnovers. Dudley is a premier slasher that covers ground in a blink. She had 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 block in a rout of ML King.
2025 5-8 PG [player_tooltip player_id="285192" first="Daija" last="Preston"] – Douglas County
Preston has a high ceiling. She’s a gifted athlete with an athletic build, different from her peers. Preston handles the ball well, but did have a few freshman moments which led to some teachable conversations with legendary Head Coach Chet Forsh. While consistency and being able to impact games in an efficient manner will take time, Preston is one to watch in the future. She had bright spots as she weaved through traffic on offense and made plays on defense. Daija had 7 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks in a 44-41 win over Marietta.
2024 5-6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="258951" first="Zaynah" last="Preston"] – Holy Innocents’
On a stacked roster loaded with size, [player_tooltip player_id="258951" first="Zaynah" last="Preston"] may fly under the radar at times, but she is a skilled playmaker that can both facilitate and score at a high level. She has a good feel for the game and is capable in scoring at all three levels. Preston is a good shooter that can pull-up on screens and knock down the three when defenders go under. She netted 10 points in a win over Grayson. She should be on D-I radars moving forward.
