Prep Girls Hoops made the trip over to James Island on Saturday afternoon. The Legacy Early College Lady Lions made the trip down from Greenville to play the First Baptist Hurricanes. The Lions from the Upstate came away with a 69-59 road victory to move to (16-2) on the season. Senior Leadership for Lady Lions [player_tooltip player_id="137233" first="Savannah" last="Brooks"] has been a great addition to the Lady Lions roster since arriving from the State of Maryland. Savannah brought it today with her play, hustle, leadership and better yet taking defensive charges. Brooks constantly stays VOCAL on the floor and in communication with her teammates. She is always around the ball and looking to make a play on both ends. Savannah was able to bury some perimeter jumpers today to keep the defense honest. Hurricane Seniors The First Baptist Hurricanes will have to fill some big holes on the roster next season with the departure of some key seniors. [player_tooltip player_id="158920" first="Alexia" last="Grant"], [player_tooltip player_id="171771" first="Tiana" last="Spann"] and [player_tooltip player_id="300762" first="Mia" last="Wysong"] will all play college ball next fall. Grant an Appalachian State University signee scored 16 points in the defeat. Spann finished the game with 16 points and 12 rebounds according to my unofficial state. Spann a Winthrop University signee does a great job of finishing with her left-hand around the basket. Tiana really likes playing the game on contact and bringing a battle to the paint area. Wysong a guard will her play college ball at North Greenville University (SC) next season. Wysong finished with 4 points today. This trio of ladies for the Hurricanes will be a lot to replace for next season. Battling Inside The Paint [player_tooltip player_id="194863" first="Kamya" last="Hatten"] finished with just 6 points in the Legacy Early College Lady Lions win. Hatten really impacted the game outside the scoring column. Hatten finished with 11 rebounds, some loose 50/50 balls and a few bruises along the way. Hatten played her tail off down in the paint and absorbing contact all game long with Winthrop University signee [player_tooltip player_id="171771" first="Tiana" last="Spann"]. Kamya brought her lunch pale to work today and worked overtime in the win. Sophomores In The Game [player_tooltip player_id="176614" first="Trinity" last="Vance"] came to play today for the Lady Lions. Vance was on top of her game finishing with 23 points in the win. She does a great job of getting others involved in the offense and never seems to rush her shot while on the floor. Trinity has a sweet looking stroke and feel foer the game. Wearing the white and purple today was [player_tooltip player_id="255966" first="Yannah" last="Seaberry"] for the Hurricanes. Yannah finished with 17 points after nailing down some three pointers in the second half. Seaberry plays best off the ball and generally behind the three-point line.
