Below are my selections for Second Team All-Shootout and the 6th Woman of the day.
’22 Brianna McDaniel Brianna McDaniel 5'10" | CG Kenwood | 2022 State #13 Nation IL | 5’11 Combo Guard | Kenwood
Bri is #1 for a reason.. her game is next level ready and she has the movement and IQ to be just as successful when she arrives at Texas A&M next year. Frame wise she’s built to finish through contact, tempo, and skillset wise shes equipped to score on anyone and facilitate for everyone. Her talent continues to grow each game and her offensive confidence is high… but earned. Defensively she approaches that side of the ball with the same grit and talent. She knows who she is, and what she can do. The potential has no ceiling.
’22 Faith Feuerbach Faith Feuerbach 6'0" | SG Sycamore | 2022 State IL | 6’1 Wing | Sycamore
Feuerbach is a smooth all-around wing who shows creativity and craftiness when the ball is in her hand. When attacking she uses her size to finish or creativity to get around and or get her teammates open. From the arc.. her release is quick and effortless, which makes her a threat from all over. She can score and facilitate from all 3 levels, and be the primary playmaker or scorer depending on what her team needs. She finished last night’s game with 19 points. The University of St Thomas will be her new home next year, and her skill set will translate seamlessly.
’22 Whitney Dunn Whitney Dunn 5'8" | CG Kenwood | 2022 State IL | 5’9 Guard | Kenwood
Sharp and a confident shooter. The Loyola commit plays with a tempo that isn’t rushed or out of control. Her skillset is smooth with no flare.. she has the “just get the job Dunn” mentality. Offensively, her game is complete but she excels from downtown. She shoots the ball with poise and her release is automatic and consistent. Defensively her length is used to her advantage, she can stay in front of whoever and has a strength that’s not noticeable but is very much there.
’22 Ella Shipley | 5’11 Forward | Sycamore
Effort, energy, and just completely tough. Ella’s a standout star in soccer but brings that same confidence to the basketball court. Shipley, simply gets the job done. She can knock down the long ball, or take it to the paint and use finish through contact. She’s a strong forward who plays at a great pace but can facilitate from all angles when needed. She’s a great addition and compliment to a highly talented Sycamore Varsity program. She seems to be the enforcer and the backbone of her team. She finished the night with 14 points.
’22’ Aubree Schultz | 5’7 Guard | Lincoln-Way West
The energy of the team and the perfect backcourt mate for her standout teammate. Aubree has all the tools to compete with any and everyone. She’s tough, athletic, disciplined, and hustles on every possession. She has great IQ and does everything for her team to win. In yesterday’s underdog win against Sycamore, Aubree was the main key in the upset. Multiple possessions she made her presence felt. A strong chase-down block, and some poised free throws at the end to keep her team ahead. Tons of effort and heart. Aubree capped off the night with a W and 12 points.
6TH WOMAN
’25 Nisha Musunuri | 5’8 Guard | Stevenson
The freshman did her job and even got credit from her all-star teammate on the reason why the team got the big 14 point win against Kenwood. Nisha put up 13 points, and each bucket was meaningful to the team. Musunuri has a smooth game, that doesn’t get rushed or frazzled no matter whos defending her. Frame-wise, she might not be the biggest but she plays twice her size and will go at it anyone. Offensively, Her ball-handling skills are complete, not flashy but enough to create space for herself to score or space to create for someone else. She can shoot the 3 and drive to paint and finish. She’s efficient at the free-throw line as well. Defensively, she has a little edge, fire, and tons of effort and energy. Last night, she played with poise, confidence, and calmness. Nisha will continue to improve, and that game was definitely a confidence booster.
