Happy New Year!
We are rolling right into 2022 with a new group of prospects to watch. Please feel free to reach out to me at my socials regarding any player nomination.
Taylor Williams - Cardinal Gibbons
2023 Taylor Williams is a player I’ve seen a few times this season. There is no question in my mind that she can move in the open floor and score in transition. She plays as a guard/wing type at 5-foot-9. Williams averaged just over nine points per game as a sophomore. She will likely have an even bigger role as a senior with 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="248419" first="Chloe" last="Celler"] departing. Cardinal Gibbons is 8-2 overall with her contribution.
Arielle Facyson - Deerfield Beach
You might remember Facyson playing alongside Aaliyah Reid last season for the Lady Bucs. The 5-foot-6 guard is a very capable scorer with 20 or more points on any given night. Facyson was a Honorable Mention prospect as a freshman by the Sun Sentinel.
Kindal Glanton - North Miami
2024 Kindal Glanton has some talent at guard. The 5-foot-7 prospect is averaging 7.5 points and just over three steals per game through eight recorded contests. While being a solid defender overall, Glanton should continue to improve on her shooting efficiency. She is on a team that is fairly young after leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id="353537" first="Desiree" last="Sinclair"] (17.3 ppg). That could help her develop playing alongside familiar teammates.
[player_tooltip player_id="221708" first="Rachael" last="Restrepo"] - Miami Lasalle
2024 [player_tooltip player_id="221708" first="Rachael" last="Restrepo"] is having a fairly good season for Miami Lasalle. The 5-foot-4 guard is averaging 11.4 points, 2.9 assists and 3.3 steals per game. Restrepo has five double-figure games out of nine contests. She also has shown ability from long range with 16 3-pointers. Restrepo does have 30 steals and three or more swipes in seven of nine games. A bit of an improvement as a shooter could take her a long way. Per information, Restrepo is second on the team in scoring behind Mary Scheuerle (14.8 ppg). The 5-foot-10 forward is also averaging over 14 boards per game.
Zoey Matias - Westminster Christian
A freshman leading her team in scoring and steals must account for something! That is what 5-foot-8 shooting guard Zoey Matias has done for the Warriors. Matias is averaging 14 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.9 steals per game. She has six or more steals in five games. As a scorer, Matias has three games of 20 or more points. She played significant time as an eighth and seventh grader. Overall, she has played in over 30 games already. Like with other prospects, more consistency/efficiency as a shooter will only help her.
