There is only one week left in the regular season for Florida High School girls’ basketball. We have our next edition of Orlando Area Standouts, which consist of 5 area players that i was able to watch. Here are the players.
Trinity Turner Trinity Turner 5'7" | CG Dr. Phillips | 2024 State FL 2024 5’6″ PG Doctor Phillips
Turner, whom I consider to be a top 5 Guard in the State of Florida has showed her skill set off this season. She is a fast pace, crafty guard that gets her teammates involved in the game by making on-target passes. She utilizes her shiftiness and creativity to manipulate the defender to get her teammates the ball in a very productive and effective position to succeed. Not only can Turner get teammates involved in the game she is also scoring 15.3 points per game. Along with being the leading scorer for the Panthers, she is also the leading rebounder and leading the team in assist.
Eliana Oquendo 2024 5’4″ SG Winter Park
Oquendo is a very quick player that hustles on every play. She has a nose to ball, as she dives on the floor for loose balls and gets after the long rebound. She is snagging 2.5 rebounds per game, while robbing the other team with 2.6 steals per game, second on the Wildcats in the steal category. Oquendo is scoring 4.5 points per game along with all the other stats.
Danielle Nau 2023 5’1″ PG Forest Lake Academy
Nau is a smaller guard that plays with much heart, and grit. She shows abilities to get to the basket, using either hand, while finishing with a variety of moves. A very aggressive defender that is in the face of the opponent causing mistakes. Nau, also has a highly skilled in dribbling the ball, as she uses her skill to get around defenders. Look forward to seeing her continued improvement and growth.
Kalea Rainey Kalea Rainey 5'7" | CG Eustis | 2022 State FL 2022 5’8″ SG Doctor Phillips
The Senior Rainey has the making of a true all-star. She is long, athletic and aggressive. Rainey, who recently scored her 1000 career points for the Panthers. With her ability to get to the goal, finish with either hand through the contact. She has nice touch around the goal and can hit the outside jumper. Rainey is averaging 10.7 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game. Teaming up with Turner and the other Lady Panthers, would not be surprised to see them go deep in the High School playoffs.
Chelsea Maynard 2024 5’8″ PF Forest Lake Academy
Maynard has very active hands, getting deflections, blocking shots, which causes much havoc to her opponents. She is also a very athletic player that can jump, regularly grabbing rebounds on both the offensive and defensive side of the court. Another quality attribute is that Maynard can pass out of the post, as she sees the floor very well. She scores a big amount of her points in transition, as she is the constantly running the floor on the break.
Alyssa Hines 2023 5’10″ PF Hagerty
Hines, a long stretch four that can knock down the three balls. She is presence in the post for the Huskies, by getting steals and blocking shots. She is a team player that hustles to the loose ball and does her part in rebounding the ball. Hines, a two-sport athlete, is an important piece for Hagerty in the post. If Hines can add a post move and a one dribble mid-range pull-up jumper, she will even more of a force to reckon with.
