The second half of the 2021-2022 high school basketball season is underway and Prep Girls Hoops Alabama will be following along the entire year! Each week we will release new articles about a handful of players that stood out above the rest. This article is going to be focusing on the talent that has been shown throughout the third week of January in Alabama. I have been fortunate to watch some of the best high school performances this year. These girls are standing out within the state. I believe all of them will have an opportunity to play at the next level. As you will see from the stats that these young ladies are putting up, the future is bright for Alabama hoops. Laci Goga – Junior – 5’8″ – Pelham Goga is a five-foot-eight junior for the Pelham Panthers that has really hit the ground running. This week was one of her biggest weeks. She has proved to be really good off the dribble, making plays for her teammates and creating for herself. Goga had a big-time performance this week. There was one game where she finished with 46 points, 5 steals and 5 assists against Chilton County. Then in another game, she poured on 17 points and 4 steals against Helena. "[player_tooltip player_id="329973" first="Abethany" last="James"]- So - 5’7" - Sparkman James has a polished game. She doesn’t get rushed offensively and seems to be involved in every play defensively. She does a good job of leading her team. James has big motor that helps her team late in games. Downhill she’s smooth to the basket, able to go coast-to-coast excelling at drawing fouls. She has a quick step to free herself when getting to the rim and can either finish or find the open man in the blink of an eye. James finished with 27 points against Huntsville. These are the types of performances that we have grown to expect from James. [player_tooltip player_id="323434" first="Hannah" last="Jones"] – Jr - 6’1 - Prattville Christian Jones is a bruising post presence. She has good footwork both on the block and off the dribble. With her size she has an amazing upside. With another year of high school basketball to play I believe Jones will develop even more. Jones doesn’t hesitate to put the ball on the floor to power her way to the basket, drawing fouls in the process. She has come on strong her junior season, raising her stock. Jones posted 21 points, 14 rebounds against Montgomery Academy. Kemberly Roscoe – So - 6’1 - Cornerstone Christian Roscoe just continues to get better throughout the course of the season. She has started to bring high energy in the paint. With a strong lower base it helps her clear out opponents and sky for rebounds. She also finishes well through contact, taking defenders with her to the rim. Roscoe Runs hard end to end. With her size, she is a mismatch on most nights. Roscoe has been averaging a double over the past 3 games. She has started to pick things up for the start of the new year. She posted 13 points, 10 Rebs, and 1 stl against Victory Christian.
